Instead of drafting an interior offensive linemen, what are your thoughts about going after Alan Faneca who was released by the Jets this morning? It would allow us to grab a safety in the fourth round and focus on best player available in the late rounds.
The Jets are expected to formally announce Alan Faneca's release on Monday.
The Newark Star-Ledger notes that of Faneca's $7.5 million base salary, a whopping $5.25 million is guaranteed. They're really biting the bullet to cut ties with a player considered a "leader" in the locker room. It's a slightly risky move, but second-round pick Vlad Ducasse projects as an upgrade.
