Cowboys Will Re-Sign Montrae Holland to 2-Year Deal
From Nick Eatman:
Cowboys guard Montrae Holland, the only unrestricted free agent the club had this off-season, has agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension to remain with the club.
While details of the contract have not been announced, and in fact, the deal has not been officially signed, it’s likely that Holland was the type of veteran player Jerry Jones had in mind when he said last weekend he wanted some depth on the offensive line.

Cowboys bring back Montrae Holland

The aging Dallas Cowboys offensive line surprisingly didn’t get much younger during the draft.
Jerry Jones waited until the sixth round to take tackle Sam Young, and didn’t draft a guard. It’s not that we think Doug Free can’t hack it. But Dallas risks watching their offensive line get old all at once without quality young players behind them.
Knowing the team needed some depth inside, the Cowboys agreed to a two-year contract with guard Montrae Holland, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Holland, 30, was Dallas’ only unrestricted free agent. He will be a backup guard
#88 Dez Bryant-Welcome to the Cowboys!!!
I know the Cowboys were thinking about working him at C last year
before Brewster got hurt. I wonder if that plan is back in effect.
If so, this is bad news for Cory Proctor.
We've not seen Holland...
…other than a game (or two) he played two years ago. He played average if not well then. Unless he’s regressed immensely, I think he’s 100% better than Procter.
Please, please… release Procter. I know he plays a mean set of drums, but I’ll risk his loss to the band.
sigh
Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, Jason Witten, Felix Jones = defensive coordinator's Kobayashi Maru scenario
At least he's got the HUGE factor going for him.
Personally, I wouldn’t mind him beating out Procter.
Trust them...they know what they're doing.
