Take away the trade that brought Roy over here, as of right now it is a bad trade, but if we win a Super Bowl with roy playing a significant part then it was a great trade.
Take away the contract Roy has, he already got his nine million bonus and there is nothing we can do about it. He will be on the Team this year.
Something you should look at..............
Roy is owed 3million this yr as his base salary. Patrick is owed 2.5 plus 1 million in easily attainable incentives. Thats a push.
Patrick Crayton is 31 and slow, Roy is 28 and runs a sub 4.5
Roy can be legitimate #2 and possibly a #1 wr, Crayton is a decent #3 not explosive and doest have the quickness to be a dominate #3.
Patrick has had 6 seasons with the Cowboys and Romo to gain that cohesiveness and his best season came in yr four when he had 50 catches and 7 touchdowns, that was the season no one could touch Jason Garrett early on.
Roy had 38 catches and 7 touchdowns last yr and the cowboys struggled to score because everybody and thats with only 1 year of Roy truely being on the team because 2008 doesnt count because they didnt really practice together.
Roy's Best Season he caught 82 passes, for 1,320 yrds and 7 touchdowns, eerily similar to Miles Austin season last Yr.
Look at there Stats and remember the lions sucked and Roy has been coming back from a torn ACL in 2007 and being traded to a new team while Crayton has had a great team a put up less then average numbers.
One thing Crayton had less of is Drops Crayton had 5 drops to Roys 8 drops, but i wonder how many times Crayton was asked to go over the middle and take vicious hits by the safety's we know injured his ribs going over the middle Crsyton as a #3 was not asked to do that so he has easier catches.
Also lets not forget the 2007 playoffs where Crayton cost us the game against the Giants with 2 key drops.
Crayton is more a back yard football player he, is only affective when Tony buys time for him go get open.
Im not saying Roy is the best route runner but has the physical skills to overcome some route running difeciencies unlike Crayton who needs a QB to make plays for him
