hmmmm

how can we go 12-4 when you show us losing five games?

by One.Cool.Customer on May 26, 2010 12:22 PM CDT reply actions

Green Bay

I think we take Lambeu this year like we did in 2008. Nothing fancy, definitely not a shootout, but quality ball control and smothering defense.

I'd be happy with Dallas winning the SB in the long run...

but there is no way in hell I see Washington beating Dallas in the opening game.

Anything said above is purely the opinion of AFB unless said otherwise.

I’d say, Cowboys 28, Redskins 17.

by Cowboysfan82 on May 31, 2010 8:39 PM CDT up reply actions

Exactly,

With their change over to the 3-4 and McNabb getting in sync with their WRs, first game we win, second game could be different.

by JLMax09 on May 26, 2010 4:22 PM CDT up reply actions

Agreed

Why would anyone think that Washington will win this game? I know Shanahan is the coach, but that team is still not going to win. It may be close, but I really don’t think it will be. I would predict a 24-10 score, with a Dallas win.

Only two loses I would contest

Would be Philly and Washington. And that’s just because I don’t think either team will that be good because of the QB position.

It's hard to say what's been most impressive. The seamless jump from AA? The ability to hit for average? The ability to hit for power? The 18 walks in 111 trips to the plate? The flair for the dramatic? When you're trying to isolate the most impressive aspect of Jason Heyward's game, there's a lot to choose from, and it's only been a month and a half.

by Richie Grogan on May 26, 2010 12:46 PM CDT reply actions

I understand why you would think that for the Eagles.

Being the KK is unproven and all.

But McNabb is one bright spot on that team even with his faults.

I agree that the Cowboys can win both of those games

, especially Washington. I don’t see the Redskins being all that good this year, even with McNabb.

by Cowboysfan82 on May 31, 2010 8:51 PM CDT up reply actions

I like our chances better against McNabb

Campbell had some solid games against us. Meanwhile, McNabb has played poorly more often than not in the last 5 years in our matchup.

by foyesboys on Jun 1, 2010 8:13 PM CDT up reply actions

12-4 #2 seed NFC

I have our losses as:
Hou in Hou – I live here and they always are up for Dallas. Went to the Pre Season game in 07 and this town treated in like a playoff game (not that the Texans have ever had one, Har Dee Har Har)
Cowboys tickets can only be bought in packages of 3 games Boys and whatver the 2 lowest selling other games are projected to be and are expected to be sold out before the official first day of ticket sales because the package goes on sale before then.

GB in GB – Dammit, hate to predict this but I can see it happening

NY in NY – Nuff said, at least this year we will split home and home with them

Philly IN Dal – we embarrased them bad last year, expect this to be a revenge game with the Eagles giving their heart and souls all day. IN fact the Eagles will be so spent, the well known Dallas Hangover will extend to the rest of the season losses after this game.

After the game in Dallas they have to go to NY and then home for the Vikings. Then home for us to close out the season. Yup I predict they beat us in a revenge game then lose out the regular season, tough shcedule and the Big D hangover does Reid and Co in for 10.

WHERE YA AT ON THIS JIMMY?

by Travlr on May 26, 2010 1:30 PM CDT reply actions

Dallas should beat he Eagle twice this year

I don;t think they will be very good and Dallas has there number now.

by Longhorns84 on May 26, 2010 6:19 PM CDT up reply actions

Disagree

I think Kolb is going to produce better than some on here think. The guy did very well replacing McNothing and he does have some very good Wideouts, if they play up to their potential and seeing as it is Dallas they will. Also Andy Reid has done alright up there getting that team to play for him, and that was when Mcnothing had nothing to throw to.

Ahab the Arab
I say keep an eye on this kid, this Louie the Looper. He's going places!

by damnarab2 on May 31, 2010 9:52 AM CDT up reply actions

Kolb is a better pocket passer

but will he be as successful as McNabb was? Doubt it. He’s going down where McNabb fought off the sacks and made very frustrating completions. All it’s going to take is one good hit, and their little star WR is gone. That relationship has already begun to sour with them questioning his toughness for not getting back in the game after a concussion.

When I die I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my Grandfather -- not screaming like the passengers in his car.

by White Wolf on May 31, 2010 2:58 PM CDT up reply actions

my complaing about philly has little to do with kolb

and much moreso to do with a porous OL and completely totally unproven defensive secondary. They have a lot of young blood defensively, I doubt it will be a smooth transition.

by foyesboys on Jun 1, 2010 8:14 PM CDT up reply actions

I agree we will split the season with you guys

But 14-10 for the season closer? Seems a little low for both teams. Its the season closer we should have all the kinks worked out. (in the case we refers to both teams) Unless we both get hit with injuries which is a possibility but I just dont see it being a low scoring game. This might be because Shoot outs are fun to watch and I just want to see one.

ALso losing to the redskins week one? I mean sure it could happen, the Lions COULD win the Super bowl this year too.
I would like to hear the reasoning behind that.

My prediction 12-4.

We go undefeated at home only losing on the road to:

Minn – I have nothing to substantially say last year won’t happen, so until I see it (which I believe I will) this stays.

GB – Never like this game, they always play us tough.

NY- We just don’t have the Giants #… yet

PHI- Come on 5-0 in the last 5? After 44-6? It’ll be very hard to make that happen. But so was a 3 game sweep…?

i think the final game of the season will be meaningless for us and as far as the skins, their defense should be good and they traditionally play us hard.
that said, thats probably the most questionable prediction.
do you agree that 11-5 is good enough for a # 2 seed in the NFC this year?

by hbdc on May 26, 2010 2:36 PM CDT reply actions

No

I don’t see #2 being 11-5. But I guess there could be a 3-way tie where one gets it, but not likely IMO.

Semper Fi Do or Die

by Jeremiah_24 on May 26, 2010 2:55 PM CDT up reply actions

sure why not.

But you wont go 11-5

My reason, The schedule is 2 tough. Your O line is too old. You play teams with great D’s. your Oline will be broke down and worn out before the end of the season.

by greenage on May 26, 2010 3:47 PM CDT up reply actions

Plus

NY will beat you 2 times. Minney will hand your butt to you ,“you did nothing to improve on this bad match up”. The Pack will put the beat down on yea in a bad way" again you dont match up well and did nothing to fix it". Theres no way you guys will beat indy. You might split the eagles and the skins. I saw the cowboys do nothing to improve this year. The only thing they did is get older.

by greenage on May 26, 2010 4:04 PM CDT up reply actions

But

Minny comes back to earth cause Favre cannot duplicate last years performance
i think we beat indy cause we got 10 days to prepare

I will say now that Jones will make more moves as needed. The guy wants that team to be in the SB and playing in that stadium at the end of the year. If there was ever a time when he will go all out this is the year. Now then that is not to say it will happen, but it is to say Jerry will be a frigging money dropping fool inm order to try and make it happen. If there is any doubt about that Line or Safety position, Jerry will address it in some way.

LOL ... crickets chirping

Eagle fans are like small dogs … they grab your leg and don’t want to let go because they know what’s next: an extra point, soccer style.

They want to hope beyond hope that Free’s success last year means absolutely nothing. They’ll go as far as to change history and talk about how bad Free played against the Vikings – truth is Allen was silent whenever Free had his paws on him.

They want to hope beyond hope that 31/32 is “over the hill” for an O-Linemen when this age is still considered prime for an O-Linemen.

They want to point to Columbo’s heroic broken-leg come-back and discuss his poor play as if that was his entire body of work.

And when they’re finished with the starters, it’s depth they are sure will kill us … when our depth could actually be a strength this year. How many teams have three legit offensive tackles – two of which can play either side. Holland makes our interior depth solid. And our young guys are getting rave reviews from the coaches. Sorry, but I don’t believe they’re just blowing hot air when they say Bright and Brewster can play.

But I’m sure there are many Eagles fans that hang their hats on this too!

Funny, you don’t hear them talking about our WR corps any more. Or our QB … or our RBs … or our CBs … or our LBs … or … or …

crickets chirping :)

Well Since im such a small dog i might as well act like one and yap annoyingly for a while

YAP YAP YAP
Im not saying that you are “Over the Hill”. But your line is freaking old compared to most. Also your team was retardedd healthy last year and if it happens again ill just go ahead and assume you guys sold your souls to the devil.

YAP YAP YAP

Who exactly are these three tackles? Id like to know. The Barron isnt great. If that is who you are talking about. The coaches for every team blow hot air. I cant remember the last time I head " He IS TERRIBLE AND HAS NO CHANCE OF MAKING THIS TEAM"

YAP YAP YAP YAP

Your WRs are good no doubt

Witten-1030 yards, 2 TDs
Austin-1320 yards, 11 TDs
Roy-596 yards, 7 TDs
Crayton-622 yards, 5 TDs

Dez could be a bust or he could be a star who knows. But there is a significant drop from Witten and Austin to the other WR. IF a team shuts down Austin or Witten you are going to have to spread the ball of to players that arent exactly that great.

YAP YAP YAP

Your RB are really good. Deff the best in The NFC East.

Your CBs good to but they arent Derelle Revis or Na. So its what ever to me.

Your LBs are good. Not anything to bet my house on.

I mean your good but that doesnt make your team unbeatable.

YAP YAP YAP

Thanks for telling me what I hope beyond Hope I was confused for a while.

YAP YAP YAP

Go ahead and soccer kick me I dont give a shit. Neither one of us plays, Neither one of us owns the teams and neither one of us Coaches the team. SO our opinions dont matter at all I could be wrong and you could.

Thanks for taking the bait ... entertaining reply :)

As for your yips …

1. True, the line is not young. Nor is it too old.
1b. Any argument that includes potential injuries falls into the category of hope … just my humble opinion.

2. Barron isn’t great, but he’s hardly a liability and in fact is quite a luxury as a #3.
2b. The hot air comment is about our SECOND back-up interior lineman. See 1b; hope.

3. Significant drop from Austin/Witten to the rest? Dez could be a bust? … so your argument is IF Dez is a bust and IF teams can shut down our TWO best receivers, we’ll need to go to receivers that “aren’t that great” … Again, see 1b; hope.

But thanks for the somewhat muted compliments on the rest of the team…

I will agree with one thing you said: “I mean your good but that doesn’t make your team unbeatable.”

… or so you hope :)

Haha

Ok I guess you could make that argument.
However I will say this. I dont HOPE that anyone gets hurt even if he is a dumb Cowboy. Im not a asshole. I do think you were insanely healthy last year. I dont understand how you could have two years like that. But me saying I dont think you will doesnt mean im hoping anything.

Last time I checked Barron wasnt even good but that could be a differing opinion whatever.

The WR isnt hoping cause I know it wont happen. i was just saying that 4 deep your wr arent all that great. I dont think you really know what hope means. I said if Dez bust than your WR wont exactly be strong. Once again not hoping anything I just said he could be a bust.

If you really want my opinion on all this hope stuff. I could care less if all this stuff that I am supposedly hoping against happens or not. At the end of the Day I will still think the Eagles are better. Until It is proven that without a doubt the Cowboys are light years ahead of us.

SO dez could be a monster idc
Your line could be healthy again idc

I.E. Im not hoping anything..

Also If you read through all these comments im pretty sure you will see im not this “Small dog” of an Eagles fan

Nah, I could give a crap about the oldest

What im seeing over the past few years is your Dominate O linemen. Guys like Adams One of the best LT’s in the game. Get old and not even have a thought about being replaced. “bear with me I know hes not on the team but thats the point”
Now theres Marc Colombo . Again one of the best. But has clearly lost a step. Theres no one in sight to take his place. Shouldnt Jerry have there replacments on the bench to be learning from these power houses. I’d be pissed If this was my team.
I mean I could be wrong. But thats what I see as an out sider looking in.

And for how much the guys on BGN talk about our line your team sure didn’t beat it last year now did they? Should we have more depth inside? Sure, they can do that next year. We went through the year with Proctor, not like the depth could be worse this year.

My point being

those 3 losses at the end of the season will drop you around 9-7 or 10-6.

on the fence for making the playoffs, with the NFC North likely sending 2 teams and the South having a much easier schedule than we do could have them sending 2 and that leaves no room for a 9-7 playoff team.

Unlike you, we match up well against NY and beat the crap outta them every time we play them. Plus we will kick the crap outta you two times this year. Due to the fact . We play you at the end of the season and your broken down old ass Oline is going to be in shambles. Plus now that the redskins have McNabb . He’s been kicking crap outta you guys for the past 10 years now, You guys were lucky you beat the skins last year with jason campbell. Man, now that I look at it . You guys might not win a NFC EAST game all year.

Can you name me the player you were missing that cost you so dearly?

I watched those games and I honestly didn’t sense that you were so injured that you couldn’t put up a better fight than 58-14 over two games. The reason you lost those games is because we out-coached you to the extreme and shut down your best players in just about every facet of the game.

So wait, you weren't outcoached?

I would be curious to hear more Eagles fans weigh in on this issue because I thought it was clear that you were outcoached considering that you couldn’t find Desean any where down the field. I also am questioning how well you watched the games considering Donovan definitely had ample time to throw the ball but couldn’t find any one open usually which led to the sacks.

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

by Cowboyfan729 on May 27, 2010 3:34 PM CDT up reply actions

Your defense also wasn't nearly as successful as it was in the first game.

That would certainly point to getting outcoached. I also think the definition of getting outcoached is failing to adjust from one game to the next game.

If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.

Alright sure Bud.

Do you know what our coaches were thinking leading up to the game? Do you even know your own coaches thoughts?

The Coaches can make all the gameplans in the world but things still have to fall in their lap for the plans to even work.

Our offensive line played like utter $#%#$@% our defense was on the field the majority of the game.

The point is that obviously he played pretty badly

in the coaches’ eyes and that they didn’t just put all the blame on the O-line. In other words, the coaches obviously thought there were “ample opportunities” that McNabb, and not the offensive line, cost the Eagles.

If it is because of Contracts its because if they would have waitied they would have most likely lost both that or they wouldnt get to pick because someone would throw money at both. And we would end up having the decision made for us.

Them picking Kolb is because in the long run they think he is better.

I think that Marlin will be at safety or RCB. Macho is supposedly becoming a RCB but idk. Nate Allen seems like he will be a solid contributer Asante will need to learn to tackle a little better but im giving him the benefit of the doubt being that he had a stinger in his neck. I do feel that our pass rush will be able to get enough pressure to make it so that our secondary is better looking. Our LBs should be better with Simms and Bradely being back. I understand why you would think that

But I feel confident in him. He runs similar to Bwest. He is stronger but he dances around to much. I do think that at this point he has a much stronger surrounding RB than Bwest did.
Westbrook never had a Weaver back there with him. Buck was good but he didnt have the same skill as Weaver. Mike Bell should be able to give McCoy some good tips. We picked that kid from LSU up I forget his name. But he is a big strong runner. McCoy isnt going to be a premier back but he is going to be a great Rb if he reaches his ceiling

Regardless, the only huge injuries I see listed were Jamaal Jackson and Stewart Bradley. I hate to break it to you, but I doubt that Bradley and Jackson were worth 44 points. Also, if injuries are such a concern to you, can I get a collective “I’m sorry” for all the taunting that we had to take from the BGN nation after the 44-6 game considering we were much more injured than you guys were.

by greenage on May 27, 2010 2:38 PM CDT up reply actions

So the point is for you to sit here and ride us about what you feel is unaddressed issues on our O-Line?

Not that I disagree with the fact that we do need more depth behind the starters, but it’s not like every team is running 10 deep on the line. You Eagles’ guys make it sound like we are running a guy out there that has one arm and a peg leg or something. lol

by JLMax09 on May 27, 2010 6:19 AM CDT up reply actions

I can read, glad you finally got the memo that 11 and 4 does not equal 16

And I can also read that your only argument is that the Cowboys’ OL is sooo old. They dont get hurt, so the backups don’t get to play. Is that some kid on the bench’s fault? Not too many knew what Free had last year until he stepped in for Columbo. Maybe it will take the same kind of thing to happen this year to find out what the kids on the bench have.

I don’t want to speak for everyone, but I am sure there is a few who feel better about this years OL than they did last year. Last year we had TWO guys who we knew could play tackle, this year we have THREE, that’s an improvement…Since, after all, 3 is 1 more than 2…

by JLMax09 on May 27, 2010 3:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Hey thats all I was asking.

You really think your oline is better then last year . With the loss of adams and all.

by greenage on May 27, 2010 4:14 PM CDT up reply actions

I think 'better' is probably a stretch...

Feeling better is more what I was saying, like knowing if Columbo or Free goes down, we KNOW a guy can go in who has actually set foot on the field in a professional environment before…If you can still call STL—outside of S-Jax—a professional environment lol

Maybe you say ‘What if’ both tackles go down? If you know a team 4 deep on starting tackles, my hat’s off.

Last year no one had seen Free do anything, and he was the swing, now we have a guy for swing tackle who has over 70 starts between the two positions. I’d like to see a versatile vet added for the middle, and I have always disliked Kosier after he facemasked Sean Landry on the FG block that gave WAS a 15 yard closer FG to win the game, when it should of been a 62 yard FG attempt and go to OT…But hey, I can’t hold it against the guy forever can I?

by JLMax09 on May 27, 2010 4:43 PM CDT up reply actions

This is what's weird.

You all talk about age being so detrimental, yet you claim our oldest, most penalized player was the best on our line. Well we got younger and I’ve seen Free do some things so I say yes. It is improvement.

He’s right, how do you know how the depth is at this point?

I don’t know, and I’m a diehard Cowboys fan. You on the other hand are coming over here WANTING to argue with someone.

You’re going purely off of speculation as everyone else.

I’m sure you were the same guy last year saying Dallas was dead because they had no receiving threats and everyone would stack the box against Dallas.

Maybe you can be like the BGN golden boy over there and post about how Dallas was nothing more than the 3rd in the NFC East at best and that the division was just a two horse race.

AND please can I PLEASE see another post talking about Desean Jackson is “UNSTOPPABLE” by an Eagles fan?

You know Dallas’s offensive line is old, I know Dallas’s offensive line is old… EVERYONE knows that Dallas’s offensive line is old.

Also while predicted the record, everyone just ASSUMES that every team that was good last year will be good this year.

I said it will Suffice,

not that it’s known quality. Brewster was drafted in the 3rd and Tupou in the 5th… Neither played, but that just means we don’t know at this point. Take that as quality, take it as potential, either way I’m just saying we aren’t going to have to call up some CFL lineman to come in here.

I was talking about Tupou.

You haven’t heard anything from across the wire that would give you insight on him. Our coaches are very high on Brewster, so I’ll have to believe that until I see it. Just like I would believe if your coaches say Tupou is good, until he proves otherwise you can’t know.
If Brewster comes out and “Proctors” the whole situation you won’t hear another word, but if he comes out like Doug Free did then we just got younger.

Semper Fi Do or Die

by Jeremiah_24 on May 27, 2010 1:39 PM CDT up reply actions

The Cowboys talking up Brewster is 100% meaningless to me.

And for the record, I don’t know shinola about Brewster. I’ve never seen a Ball State game, I didn’t see him play during the preseason last season (if he even played – think he was injured early?), and I don’t have the slightest idea about his strengths and weaknesses…. I’m not pretending to know anything whatsoever about Brewster. Raise your hand if you’ve seen Robert Brewster play… ever.

So is it a little premature to start listing him as a player that’ll provide depth, before anyone has even had the opportunity to take a hard look at him? In my world, it is.

Formerly Bye, Dawk :(

I don't see why,

your draft makes a little more sense to me now at least. All I’m trying to say is if you have young guys that have never played in the NFL you HAVE to give them a chance or they can never be considered true “depth”. You should always have a plan B though, which is Barron. An experianced starter that you know what you’re getting off the bench.

You sure are angry. It’s just football, calm down. You’re on a Cowboys blog expecting us to all agree with you. I visit the Eagles blog and I understand my view won’t win your whole fanbase over. If you don’t have the proper mindset, which is to UNDERSTAND what the other side thinks, then you might as well not even go to their blog. If you go, go with an open mind to learn, not to argue.

Packers-For whatever reason they have your number
Vikings-have a crazy Pass rush thats better then your o line
Bears-This depends solely on whether or not Peppers decides to play he is insane as a pass rusher. however I doubt he will
Lions-HAHAHAHA
Niners- I think the Niners are going to surprise people. I could picture them beating you.
Cards-HA they might play good on Defense but their Offense is going to be sub par
Seahawks-Pete Carrol should stay in college another non challenge for you
Redskins-Their pass rush should be able to pressure Romo fairly well
Giants-Who knows man they could have an amazing pass rush or they could self implode again
Eagles- I want to say that we should get tons of pressure but I really dont know. I feel like Graham will be a force to be reckoned with and Romo will be feeling it. Which should mask our secondaries problems.
Panthers- Panthers are going to be dangerous. But their Defense just lost its best pass rusher.
Saints-Ehhh they are the champs they will be a lesser version of themselves so You guys will be competitive against each other.
Falcons-I still dont understand them being in the second round in this prediction You guys should win that battle.
Bucs-Bucs are a terrible matchup to play you. As in terrible for them.

Im pretty sure i missed a few but the ones i did arent that great because I said so lol

Green Bay

Might have lost 2 of 3 but its always a hard physical game. Its not like going into say the Panthers. Panthers are going to play hard but its not going to be the same as their NFC south opponents. Green Bay plays you guys like you are in the NFC north.

The two Giants game were close games that Dallas didn’t play well in.

GB was close for three quarters, they didn’t just beat Dallas’s brains in.

Minnesota was the only team that really just kicked the shit out of them.

If you want to say that Dallas can’t beat them next year, why are you so hopeful about next year?

Dallas bitch slapped Philly in back to back weeks, so I guess that means that Philly can’t beat Dallas right?

Where are these great Ds?

The whole division has the Nfc north and AFC south. We have the Saints and Cards. Those are NOT, in any way shape or form, great Ds.

Minnesota – we will improve if favre comes up with a less than godly season, which he almost HAS to have, right? He played really well in that playoff game too. The chances of Favre playing that well again are almost zero imo.

You’re missing the fact that with Spencer, Jenkins, Scandrick and two young ilbs with potential, our defense has a lot of room for growth. Offensively, IF Columbo plays like his old self, Free could be an improvement over Flo, and the result will likely be a better line. I agree this is our team’s weakness, but it didn’t stop teams like Pitt from winning the superbowl.

There’s just one or two weeks (just days really) of the year that I really hate them. This year, that day happens to be Nov. 7th, and I hope we don’t have to go through them to get to the SB. Hopefully someone else, that we’ll go on to beat, takes care of that for us.

Interesting Choice

Not a bad season. Everyone else is beating you up over the divisional losses, so I won’t bother with that. What I’m really curious about is your choice of Postseason foes….

Atlanta….in the 2nd Round? Do you see them winning their division or making it as a WC and knocking off a Division winner in the first round?

Green Bay is a solid prospect for the NFC Championship game.

But San Diego in the SB? You really see them representing the AFC? I can’t see them beating out Indy, the Jets or the Ravens, and they’ll surely have to go through at least one of those teams to make it.

by Pnut Gallery on May 26, 2010 5:00 PM CDT reply actions

thanks

apart from last year, seasons sweeps are rare in our division.
i see Atl 5th seed beating SF who wins the west at 10-6
Minnesota 6th seed beating NO 3rd (they almost did this past year)

I think SD is an absolute beast on offense this year. love the RB they drafted
Don’t like the Jets’ offseason moves
Ravens or Indy ofcourse will be in the mix

by hbdc on May 26, 2010 5:20 PM CDT up reply actions

Basically on the same page with the NFC

I had Atlanta making the playoffs, but not advancing. You and I just have Minn and Atl switched, which is why I didn’t see them in the second. But they should be able to take out SF. Especially with Michael Turner projected to be back to "08 form, Matt Ryan back under center, and Tony Gonzales on his second year with the team, they’ll be formidable.

Still don’t see SD making it though. I usually pull for them, but I just don’t see them being able to make it this year. I just don’t think they’ll be able to stand up to the physical games of the Jets and Ravens. And even if you consider SD’s offense as potent as Indy’s, Indy still has a better D.

by Pnut Gallery on May 27, 2010 12:52 PM CDT up reply actions

NO is only slightly better

than the one sided team they were two years ago. Its not crazy to predict ATL to win the division. San Diego has beaten up on Indy in the past. Three significant wins in 4 years from 05-08. Baltimore is nothing too special – their defensive superstars are ancient. People forget the Jets are coming off a 9-7 season – though they’ve had another solid offseason, their improvement lies entirely in the hands of Mark Sanchez, who was a disaster for much of the regular season.

by foyesboys on May 27, 2010 10:28 PM CDT up reply actions

Don't forget

The ravens have a better offense now with Quan in the mix. Now they’ll be able to balance things out a little more effectively.

Tony Romo off in dat hole, Watch roll and watch him throw, Watch him lead dem cowboys to the super bowl, now watch me "yua!" crank dat cowboys, Now watch me "yua!" crank dat cowboys, Now watch me "yua!" crank dat cowboys, Now watch me "yua!" crank dat cowboys!

i like our defense

it works out to allowing 3 points more/game this year, about 18/game. that could put us in the top 5 in terms of points allowed. Our defense should be better overall but the focus on turnovers might allow more big plays against us.

by hbdc on May 28, 2010 8:08 AM CDT reply actions

Turnovers aren't 100% necessary

If your offense is potent (like ours was last year) and can score consistently (not necessarily our team last year) and your defense can hold to around 18/game then turnovers aren’t really necessary.

Indy is a decent example of this

27 takeaways last year (16 teams had equal or better last year) but allows about 19/game and scored about 26/game (top 10 in both categories).

YAY! In your face San Deigo!

I think 13-3 though — Dallas players seem hell bent to get home field advantage.

Defense will be better than last year, so imagine midseason 2009 defense showing up in week 2. Offense will also be better.

by AustonianAggie on May 28, 2010 9:59 PM CDT reply actions

I'll predict a season of streaks

start 10-0
lose 3 in a row (NO, IND, PHI)
win 3 in a row
13-3 regular season

streak continues in postseason with 3 wins…Div, NFC Champs, Superbowl Champs.

It won’t be San Diego in the Super Bowl though…I’ll predict the Ravens. They beat us in the last game at Texas Stadium and we get to beat them in the first Superbowl at Cowboys Stadium.
