Barron making progress
From the DMN:
"Dallas Cowboys offensive line coach Hudson Houck praised Alex Barron for his work in his first month with the club.
Houck asked Barron to make fundamental changes in his game. Barron embraced the adjustments, Houck said.
``He's been doing exactly what we're asking him to do,'' Houck said. ``And I think he's trying to change some of the things I thought were bad habits.''"

lol...you crack me up foyes
I know we shouldn’t get too excited over a pinch of positive coach-speak.
But since Barron is one of those supremely talented but underachieving players – like RW and Marty B – it’s always nice to get glimmers of hope that we might have struck gold with this trade.
Imagine if he looks good enough to be a starting LT, and Free plays really well this year…we could probably turn one of them into a good, young interior lineman, or the draft pick to get one.

Or how bout just being set at both OT spots?
Someone has to play RT, Columbo won’t be around forever. No need to trade anyone, or move anyone inside.
I see them both as more natural LTs
And I’m hoping that Brewster will be ready to step up as our RT in 2011.
At the end of the day, though, I’d be thrilled if Barron turned out to be a dependable starter for us, no matter what position he played. And Brewster has a decent frame for guard too, so maybe he becomes our RG instead of our RT…ahh the dreams of having to find spots for good young talent on the OLine : )

Yeah, I agree.
I’d like to see Free/Barron as the bookends, with Bright Brewster in the middle, with some young Center next year…but who knows. It will be nice to see what a year does for Brewster and some of those other guys.
Maybe then we could stop listening to the Philly guys cry about how we are too old with no depth! lol
Sometimes you have to take what you can get.
Rabid and luvin' it

Houck can make
O linemen better. We only have two O line that were original draftees by the Boys.
I am thinking JJ and gang are not through upgradeing this team although it looks like they will do it on the cheap getting players off the wavier wire.

Glimmer of hope
that our offensive line will not just “get by” but might become a strength, and that Barron will not just be a stopgap replacement but a quality guy that you actually want in the game.
