Hellyeah he does

Now off to work out on the Total Gym

Dez Bryant, Miles Austin, Jason Witten, Felix Jones = defensive coordinator's Kobayashi Maru scenario

marion barber

love his biblical tweets, read um daily!

Interesting choice by him-has a chip on his shoulder??

And TChoice seems pretty serious too.

Nothing wrong at all with feeling a sense of competition, and neither of those guys wants to just hand the job to Felix.
Just the way it should be!

yes sir

strongly adise taking a look into what he posts…. always good stuff. Alot about MB3 that doesnt compute with his plaing style
1. He is a pianist and rocks it like brian mcknight
2. He’s a quiet and seemingly humble, timid guy
3. Very religeous, every day is a new post (usually from Psalms) on his twitter account

Why do I have the feeling

Marion Barber’s going to be a beast this year?

by Dub_TC on Jul 24, 2010 12:10 PM CDT reply actions

choice

What’s up with choice. I hope he stays motivated. His time will come to be a superstar just ask miles austin

Really?! Really?!

by thebigham on Jul 24, 2010 12:41 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

False

You think he’s going to ge any shots with Felix & Barber? Also who’d Austi have to go through to get a stating spot hmmmm?

I'm worried about the beer supply. After this case, and the other case, there's only one case left- Barney Gumble

T.O.

and Roy Williams, also Patrick Crayton anb beat out Sam Hurd.

Nobody really

by Musiccitynorm on Jul 24, 2010 12:57 PM CDT up reply actions

TO and Roy Williams

They released TO becuase Miles showed them something and RW went down. it’s a valid comparison. If you have the talent, you let the comptetion motivate you and you stay ready for the day your chance comes. If either MBIII or Felix gets injured suddenly Choice is getting serious carries.

FREE THE OGLETREE!!!

by dunkman on Jul 24, 2010 12:58 PM CDT up reply actions

Barber will be watching Choice (and Felix even more) from the sidelines

Felix 50%
Choice 33%
Barber, well, that leaves an awkward 17%.

But unfortunately, someone will get hurt in this group and solve this problem, let’s just hope it’s not FJones.

by Realist Larry on Jul 24, 2010 1:24 PM CDT up reply actions

I'd say the second part of it is very realistic

I’ll put money on Choice getting the majority of the carries in at least one game this year.

by Damnsammit on Jul 24, 2010 1:58 PM CDT up reply actions

why not?

Felix is the most talented. He was already getting more carries as last year ended.

Choice is young and very good.

Barber’s got wear and tear on those legs of his-the key for any RB.

by Realist Larry on Jul 24, 2010 2:09 PM CDT up reply actions

Barber was hurt too,

Barber has not been over used as far as I can tell. Jones is the more talented back in my opinion, but 17% is not realistic.

by Musiccitynorm on Jul 24, 2010 2:12 PM CDT up reply actions

Barber had a torn quad last year

How about giving the guysome credit for playing through a very painful injury?

Choice is good, but Barber is a BEAST. How quickly some of you forget. Do I really need to find the video of his run against the Pats in ’08 to remind you???

by ChrisRichey on Jul 24, 2010 2:26 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

Barber lost weight in the off season.

That could be a good think, it helps his speed and quickness, but it hurts his power running game.

by DIRE WOLF on Jul 24, 2010 2:40 PM CDT up reply actions

He's back to the same weight...

he was when he first earned the Barbarian nickname. It wasn’t as much about his weight as it was his attitude. I don’t think he’s lost the attitude.

Rabid and luvin' it

by lonewolfz28 on Jul 24, 2010 10:08 PM CDT up reply actions

we'll just have to come back and revisit this in the Fall

I just don’t think coming back from an injury of that type is going to be so easy.
He wasn’t the quickest to begin with-and, he’s too small to keep up his “power” running.
He’s a good player, could start for many teams. But on this team he’s 3rd best.

Pessimists say the cup is half-empty, while optimists say it's half-full. Well, isn't it both? Realist Larry, 2009

by Realist Larry on Jul 24, 2010 3:21 PM CDT up reply actions

What other players haven't come back from that injury?

Just curious what you’re basing that opinion on…

by ChrisRichey on Jul 24, 2010 3:46 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

That's a fair question, and I don't have specific examples

But I’m not saying he won’t “come back from” the injury. He will be back, and he’ll be pretty good.
Again, he’s a starter on many NFL teams.

But generally speaking, and you’re a Dr. right, so you can chime in,
but my feeling is muscle tears and rips, especially in guys with thighs the size he has and who rely on those muscles, when the players come back they will lose just a small % of “burst” or whatever you want to call it. Barber’s not old, but he’s nearing 1000 very tough carries, and I’d guess even after full healing he’ll be 90 of what he was in terms of quickness.
And for an NFL RB, that’s a huge difference.
Partly due to the injury, partly due to just being another year older. Also, I know what I saw w/my eyes last year, and he just was not running well.
What’s your opinion?

"90%"

by Realist Larry on Jul 24, 2010 4:26 PM CDT up reply actions

Your eyes were right

he was hurt last year.

My opinion is I’m not a doctor an haven’t heard of another player with a hole in their quad, but you’re the first person Ive heard claim he wouldn’t be able to return at 100%.

Injuries aren’t what they were 20 years ago, sports medicine has come a looooong way.

Where is wmillion when you need him?

by ChrisRichey on Jul 24, 2010 5:06 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

Hey, maybe he comes back and tears up the league-I'm all for that!

Also, I know someone who posts here has medical background, thought it was you maybe….

Anyways, it’s not just about him-I just really think Felix Jones is going to be a true stud and a star.

Spears sounds angry

Is he feeling like he has to prove himself? Getting paid less than your backups has to be a little worrisome.

Maybe he’ll finally have the mean streak a DE is supposed to have.

So pardon my disposition; why should I listen to a system that never listened to me?

Man Dez must be talking to Irvin

This kid seems to be doing and saying all the right things, produce on the field and this kid will be an instant leader.

by Musiccitynorm on Jul 24, 2010 2:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Leader in YAC maybe?

Maybe even in lowest percentage of drops.

He could quietly lead by example, but I doubt he’ll be an outspoken leader in the locker room for at least the first few seasons. After that, who knows? Anything could happen.

Leaders- glad you asked,

I’ve trained a lot of Master Plumbers in my life time. They are not football players but I think what I learned applies.

Respect is not given it is earned. Yell, threaten, or jump up and down it does no good if you can’t do your job.

Some of the best leaders are quit guys, they lad by example and when they speak you listen.

by Musiccitynorm on Jul 25, 2010 9:52 AM CDT up reply actions

There are different type of leaders.

You’re right.

You don’t have to speak up and be a loudmouth to be a leader.

AFB Condensed- New name, same flavor.

Quoting yourself doesn't require your own name attached to it. I'm going to assume if there isn't anyone else's name attached it's yours.

This could be a make or break year for him

He does not need any set backs, and depending on what his “non football” injury was caused by this not a good start.

I am not sure but if the Cowboy brass is throwing that line out there

it makes me wonder if the injury is serious

First

thing that jumps out at me after reading the BTB tweets is that Watkins might hang on for another year. Sounds like he got all the reps at backup S and AOA was strictly a corner on day one. Only the first day, but somewhat of a surprising development IMO.

by Satch30 on Jul 24, 2010 4:14 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

My bad...I was looking at Cletis Gordon (26) and tweeted AOA.

Stupid me cuz AOA was working backpedal drills only.

Gotta get up to date with all these new jersey #s!

I did once last year and he ended up sending me a free signed t-shirt bc i won some random trivia game he was playing with the fans. Pretty cool.
