Dez Bryant on track to return for season opener.

Dez Bryant showed some good signs at practice Thursday, running routes for the first time since he suffered a high-ankle sprain last month.

Before practice started, Bryant ran some routes for quarterback Stephen McGee under the watchful eye of wide receivers coach Ray Sherman.

"I know for a fact that I'm going to be ready for Washington," Bryant said. "I know for a fact. I feel great, I feel fine. If you've been here, you've seen me run. I've been running; I've been doing a lot of good things. So I'll be ready."

Word from the DMN

He may be able to play the last preseason game in Miami.

Is it NFL time yet?

I heard Jerry is insisting that he be 100% before he plays.

I don’t think he plays untill the Washington game.Starters won’t play much at all, Dallas just wants to come out of the Miami heathly. I think the coaches know who is going to make the 53 man roster now or at least 51 or 52 of the 53.

Me too

especially with ankle sprains, it is way too easy to reinjure it if you aren’t 100% and that just make the recovery start all over. I wish MBIII could learn this about some of his injuries…

NO NO NO

Is romo playing in miami? Maybe a series right? Theres no reason for Dez to come back and play in the preseason. These things can linger. Just rest it another week to be extra sure its healed and done with. Super Bowl bound we dont need to rush him back to play in the preseason

Really?! Really?!

It's a 4-6 week injury

This is the end of week 4.

Stay safe Dez.

Well he's the one who says so in the article.

But I assume it’s because of what coach(es) are telling him.

I can't wait to see Dez on the field, but then again, I can wait for the season opener to see him. I think by

mid-season, maybe sooner, our first string receivers will be Austin, Bryant, and Crayton. By the last three games, and into the playoffs, Ogletree will sit Crayton. Just my guesses.

I hope to see our running game do well Saturday night. We need to know who our FB is. If only Deon had great hands, he’d really be something. Romo should only play an opening scoring drive, or eight or nine plays tops. If he plays more
than that, I’ll be wincing at every snap.

I won't be able to record the Miami game until 1:00pm on Monday. By then, I'll know

everything there is to know from you guys. Still, watching a game with things to look for (the things you guys point out) is interesting. GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sweet

And no way would I put him in the MIA game! It’s meaningless, most of the starters won’t be playing anyway.

Unleash him on the WAS secondary, I want to see DeAngelo Hall get burned a few times, maybe make a half assed attempt to tackle Dez, and get brushed away like a bug.

Thank you #22, for everything you did for the Cowboys. There will never be another one like you.

I have to disagree with the sentiment here about keeping Dez out...

Dez might be a physical demon, and even have his head on straight … throw in a quick learner of NFL defensive schemes and coverage…

There would STILL be a learning curve …

Dez might even have benefited from some time off. More energy for absorbing the mental aspects of the game. But ultimately, it takes experience on the field.

I’d rather reduce mistakes due to “learning on the job” … and give him as much game-time as he needs before it starts to count.

one preseaon game won't make that much of a difference

Bryant is going to experience a learning no matter what this season since he’s a rookie, keeping him out until the opening game is the smart move.

In Romo we Trust

Agreed.

Besides, I’m quite positive that he can destroy second string Miami DB’s without a problem.

Quoting yourself doesn't require your own name attached to it. I'm going to assume if there isn't anyone else's name attached it's yours.

wow, really surprised at this reaction ...

we’re talking about a rookie that missed most of training camp, yet nobody wants to give him even a little game experience?

One game against the scrubs will not be much benefit

The risk of aggravating the ankle out weighs any good that could come from getting him some snaps against MIA. IMO

And believe me I’m dying to see him in an actual game, but I’d rather make 110% sure this thing won’t linger into the season.

Ankle are funny, I just want a little more rest.

Its a long season and I dont want to see him struggling with it all year.
