Shanahan: McNabb (ankle) in doubt for Week 1

It could be a smoke screen or just a cautious assessment of his quarterback's health, but Mike Shanahan says he's not certain that Donovan McNabb will be available for the Washington Redskins' season opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

"I really don't know for sure," Shanahan said Sunday. "That's why it's day by day. We'll see how it goes."

McNabb hasn't practiced since spraining his left ankle in the second preseason game against Baltimore. He sat out Friday's game against the New York Jets and watched Sunday's practice with a black sleeve on his left leg.

I don't know

I read something about Shanahan not playing Grossman (I guess he’s the primary backup) in the pre-season finale. If that’s true, then he might not play. Either way, I still think we should beat the Skins. It would be better if McFlabb was a part of the thrashing.

I'm not sure that it matters whether McNabb or Grossman starts

neither should have much success against our defense.

he prob wont be 100% even better let ware pad his stats starting with week 1 … ware go for sack record and get it legit unlike strahan.
