My reason for optimism

I've been a member of BTB for about a year now and i sporadicly comment or respond to other bloggers post, but not regularly by any stretch, nor have i ever posted myself.  I do consume all of the information shared by all the knowledgable minds that collaborate to make this the great site that it is, so i finally decided to make my first Post. Hope it's relevant and appropriate for the Fanpost page.  Enjoy my optimistim, but keep in mind i understand the cause for concern, but surely not panic

..After reading the many recent posts (and all the relevant comments/responses) I've decided to share my outlook for our beloved Cowboys' upcoming season.  Many posts look to the offensive line and believe that our season hinges on their ability to stay healthy and perform adequatly.  Now i completely understand the concern, for I too share the same concern, and everyone has provided great insight to back-up their points.  I do however have a different outlook on the season as a whole...

Over the many years of the NFL's existance a multitude of teams have had great success (many have gone on to win Super Bowls) with less than steller offensive play.  Sure it's becoming more and more an offensive league, but even recently teams have taken home the Lombardi on the strength of dominating defenses.  Our Cowboy's defense, if not dominant last year, was very well on the verge of dominance.  I venture to say that with  the added experience of players such as Jenkins, Spencer and Ball taken into account with the possible emergence of the Williamses and Victor Butler (who personally excites me) and the addition of Sean Lee and AOA (whom i believe is smart enough to make a good 4th corner until he develops further) this D has all the makings of a dominating force...not now but RIGHT NOW!!!  So the offense is the question for the first time in a long time.  I am going on record as saying that the Cowboys offense, even with a shaky O-line, is better, than the recent SB winning teams of the Giants, Steelers, Bears (they lost but hey I'm tryin to prove a point; they DID get there), and the Ravens.  Our line will no doubt disable our offense from being as prolific as our skill position players dictate, but not enough to cripple our season.  Our O will put enough points on the board most nights to allow our defense to win games for us.  There will be games when the line holds up well enough for us to say "WOW our offense is INSANE", however it wont be till we bolster the line over the next 2 or 3 years that we get that WOW more games than not. Untill then the D will rule and that's plenty enough to make a serious run...
