Jerry Jones: "very real'' chance Cowboys will make a trade before cut date
David Moore from the DMN reports:
Owner Jerry Jones said Friday that his team was talking to several teams about a potential trade and that those discussions involved more than just one player on the Cowboys roster.
"That's about all I can say about it,'' Jones said. "It hasn't happened, but there is potential that we might make a trade here before the cut deadline.''

Would be awesome if he could package a few players for a decent oline man.
"On a journey to anywhere you can draw your own map."
He could just trade a 6th rounder for Reggie Wells of the Cardinals, who has started 90 of 107 games over the past 7 seasons.
Oh wait, no you can’t, because the Eagles just did.

It’s interesting that the Eagles did the trade but the Cowboys, who most certainly needed him more, did not.

Really?
The Eagles line is even more of a mess than the Cowboys.

We have a Pro-Bowl (should be in quotations) LT, an on-the-cusp-of-a-Pro-Bowl LG, an injured center, Reggie Wells/Stacey Andrews at RG and Winston-I’m No Longer Letting People Sack My QB 6 Times In One Game-Justice at RT.

Jason peters=overrated
peters has not lived up to the hype..sorry but good try
Hence why Pro-Bowl should be in quotations. I didn’t say he really was that good.

Otherwise, can you argue with my O-line write up?

Your line gave up more sacks and gained less yards per carry last year than the Cowboys. Your line has had more injury problems than the Cowboys. We have a pro bowl guard and center to counter your pro bowl tackle.
Dallas has more experience and better pedigreed depth. Philadelphia’s line is more of a mess than the Cowboys.

More experience comes with its detractions. Your line is more ancient than Moses.

oh, that age thing again.
how did that work out for you last year?

Overrated? Maybe.
Best LT in the division? Unquestionably.

Unquestionably?
Doubtful.
I have faith in Free playing better at LT than Jason Peters this season.
Rabid and luvin' it
lol...obviously there were not many takers for wells...
Wells is a good pass protecter though but cannot run block….Best of luck..
We are talking about the Eagles here. Plus he’s a good opposite to Jason Peters who is an excellent run blocker but just a slightly above average pass blocker.

As nobody on the Cowboys O Line can run block it seems, he'd fit right in

Just got word on the fate of Patrick Crayton. Hear it all on GAC this afternoon. At least he’ll enjoy the sunshine there…

I love trades that get us draft picks
Espicially if we were going to have to cut the player anyway

Ugh.
Not worth it. Crayton is way more valuable to us this season than a future 7th round pick. Especially given all 3 of the guys in front of him’s injury histories.
by Baked Potato Soup on Sep 3, 2010 3:01 PM CDT reply actions
not happy with a 7th rd pick for him,
good luck to crayton…………
Davie Wilson
how bout them cowboys!!!
every team new he was going to be released so why not take the 7 instead of zero...
he was gone face the facts…. take what u can get and move on
Man that blockbuster deal with the Chargers really knocked my socks off.
Way to not show your hand, Jerry.
This was definitely doing a favor for a good soldier.
Will it come back to bite Jerry in his leathery hide? We’ll see but it should be even more apparent by now that no way was Crayton keeping Dez off the field so why keep a barely used disgruntled guy like Crayton around?
More trades are needed.....
Pittsburg and SF have olinemen worth a look.
If you can get comp on McQuistan that means 15 more cuts could get some comp as well.Keep trading JJ.
