barber and/or choice on the block?
new rumors are swirling about offers being fielded for barber and/or choice. although a trade of barber is unlikely, it would continue the youth movement by allowing felix to be the unfettered #1 back in dallas. choice would then remain as the #2 and one of the developmental back (donaldson?) would stay on as a backup.
on the other hand, the team could trade choice and get some value then allow a young back to stay on the team. that is dangerous considering the health of the barber and felix over the long-term.

OMG FAN SHOT
Nah, just playing, but I’m sure some twisted panties are thinking that as they read this.
Trading Choice would be the stupidest move this year.
Trading Barber would be one hell of a deal because they moved the most overpriced contract on the team… besides that #11 dude.
ok if you want the site be like espn then ok but if not
fanshot. Seriously there doesnt have to be a post about every potentional off the wall rumor.
Really?! Really?!
Yes bigham, but
the running game in general has to be the biggest issue with the Cowboys, so no, not a fanshot.
The story of what happens with Jason Garrett, his playalling, the Oline, and our running backs, should be the biggest issues about the Cowboys team right now.
I’ve always believed TC23 to have been our every down back. Barber and Felix are part timers. There are no starters, and no bench RB’s with this Comittee. They all have a role. A better question should be this: How important is the running game to Garrett?
If it is as important as a fan should hope for it to be, then we would have seen a different scouting/drafting strategy to begin with. O-line should have been the focus in not just this draft, but since Garrett has become OC, it has not. This past draft…WR, then LB. Nothing against Dez (have high hopes), but we could have been smarter about helping the team in general for awhile now.
I see the draft singletary and the forty niners had this past draft, and i get pissed. Not meaning the Olinemen they drafted will work out, but hey, at least they are adressing to try and fix the run offense, and try to upgrade it. And maybe they did- not immediately, but perhaps they hit jackpot.
And what did Dallas do? Got rid of Flo, traded Barbie for Alex Baron.
About the only thing that excites me about the Cowboys Oline is Doug Free- his potential. We need something to instill some confidence in running the ball. This is what will help Romo win it all for us, not another reciever, or getting rid of recievers.

+ 1.5million
Seriously. I get tired of hearing that our running game stinks because of our O-line. I running game stinks because our O-Coordinator either A) can’t put a scheme together or B) just doesn’t care to.
I also thing TC is a solid every down back.
As for drafting o-line, we picked up a 6th and a 7th so we should have some extra picks to leverage into a couple good linemen.

i think the best will be retaining barber one year more
by now we just would receive a low round pick, if this year he performs better and shows he has something left in the tank, maybe next year we could receive a third rounder for him, i dont’ care about the contrct since i don’t sign his chekcs ha!
why mess
with something good? Wait till after the season to move Barber and keep Choice. Choice is the best all around back that we have on the team. He is, the insurance policy! If they are wanting to part with a back, it should be Barber, all though i would hate to see him go (i like his fire!)
Its not true
I read a quote fromt he cowboys totally denying shopping barber.
It’s got to be B.S. because it wouldnt make any sense. Your not going into the season with only 2 rbs, and donaldson and miller sure havent done anything to suggest they deserve a roster spot.
To many things dont add up for it to be true. Its an uncapped year, theres injury history with the backs on the team so you need quality depth and whos going to give you fair value right now? Unless the vikings offered you another Hershal Walker deal I cant see any of them being traded tis year.

what about mankins?
clearly pats are unhappy w/ maroney so why not take a better back w/ running, pass catching, and blitz pickup capabilities. they already have fred taylor to start the season so could bring him along after a few weeks.
TC
choice is best all around back on the team. when both other backs go down with nagging injuries whos there to bail them out ?TC thats who. id like to see him move to a more prominent role use felix on 3rd down and long distance downs while using barber(if he’ll stop hesitating) on some short or goal line downs. plus need 3 solid backs if move to 18 game season
they would trade Mankins
for a decent RB, they would probably want Choice over Barber but either way thats not the big issue. Mankins wants to be paid big bucks & thats the problem, the Pats would love someone to take him off their hands for a quality player they need or even a 2nd/3rd draft pick bc he’s a digruntled player.
also i wouldn’t doubt Jerry offered Barber on the trading block bc where theirs smoke theirs fire, always. i’m sure Jerry & a lot of other teams have talked about aquiring L.Mankins. the Pats could use more then a RB, they need help on defense LBs, Safetys, etc. it might cost us a V.Butler, or prspect safety or even a RB like Choice but believe me the Pats don;t mind dealing players
i was just using these as examples & not making up BS so dont take to serious.

Hey I love T. Choice..
…but Felix should be the stater.

Barber or Choice?
Man, what a mistake it would be to trade Choice! He should already be playing ahead of Barber and splitting time with Jones. Let’s face it … Jones will never be a full-time, 25-carry a game back! He’s always “dinged” up (usually something to do with his wheels)! Please, please, please don’t let Choice go!
