3 Bads and 3 Glads
really trying to process the cuts and trades, trying to get into the mindset of the coaches, and figure out what they believe are weaknesses, explaining the moves they made (Crayton) as well as the cuts. Here is my list of 3 things I am questioning, as well as 3 things I am happy about after "Cut" day:
The Bads:
1. Obviously, Cletis Gordon. Can't figure this one out. i know the coaches believe that Ball/AOA can be backup corners, but this one don't make sense to me, and probably not to alot of other people either.
2. Lissemore and Siavii- Siavii kind of grew on me, because I wasn't convinced when he first came here. Seemed to be a good backup Dlineman with experience, and had good power, and seemed to be progressing. Lissemore has a chance to show he can play now, can he deliver? Wished we could have seen more of him.
3. Bryan McCann- he is multi talented (CB, PR/KR) and that is valuable. A team with too many role players and not enough multi talented will have problems on cut day. I hope he makes it to the PS, and I hope we don't see too many 4 WR sets (especially because of them cutting Cletis too). I really believed this kid was going to make it.
The Glads:
1. Josh Brent- A much needed Bohemoth in the middle. Thank you, oh football gods.
2. Church and McCray- a double shot of powerful youth elixir at the safety position and special teams. Thank you again, oh football gods.
3. Leon Williams- Never a bad thing to have a good linebacker to fill-in in case of an injury.
I guess there are always going to be glads and bads on cut day.....
What are your 3 glads and bads?

Your shot at Lissemore says more about you than it does about him
if you can’t see how talented he is then I don’t know what to tell you.

It's not a shot
I haven’t seen him play- really. Don’t know why you view what I said as a “Shot”. Without junior on the team anymore, are you saying Lissemore won’t have more playing opportunities Quincyyyyy????

What do you base his immense talent off of?
His 7th round pick status? His preseason impact that was pretty much nonexistent with the exception of the last game?
A la JIBTA, you should make a profile name fully based off of your insane love for Lissemore.
If I had a nickel for every Super Bowl the Eagles have won, I would have zero nickels.
quincyyyyy is way over the top about Lissemore
But, he’s fast and strong with a good motor. The definition of a project with upside. http://www.bigcatcountry.com/2010/3/20/1383013/2010-scouting-report-sean

Thanks for that East Bay Ray
That’s the first time I’ve seen Lissemore in action.

That's funny Cowboyfan729
On the east coast here, we don’t see cowboy preseason games. It’s a Giants market here, so we watch the Cowboys, but the Giants override everything.
I watched the San Diego game and the Miami game on atdhe.net, but I was in NYC during the texans game, so i missed that game entirely (no loss, right?).
I think Quincyyy just misunderstood what I was writing. i wasn’t knocking Lissemore, just pointing out he has a chance to play now that Junior is gone. I liked Junior, so I do expect Lissemore to pick up the slack.
Quincy say’s “If you can’t see how talented Lissemore is…..” Well, i haven’t seen- that’s the problem. I would like to see how talented Lissemore is, though.

That's why I read our blog Quincyyyyy
it’s the only way some of us can get info on new players (like Lissemore, for instance) and the team. I don’t post alot, but I always read every night for about an hour or so. I’ve been reading BTB since 05.
The video East Bay Ray posted showed me Lissemore has alot of potential. I am actually happier now, because, as I said, i liked Junior. Watching the Vid hs made me feel better about them letting junior go.

Yeah did you see that interception he had while his blocker was still engaging him
talk about agility. There are not a lot of 300 lb guys like that.

I give you credit for calling this one
I didn’t think he’d make it, based on his lack of playing time. The coaches must feel he’s too valuable to risk losing on waivers, so hopefully we’ll get to see his potential become reality.

You also said he'll be better than Bruce Smith.
So it isn’t exactly like your objective in the matter.
AFB Condensed- New name, same flavor.
Quoting yourself doesn't require your own name attached to it. I'm going to assume if there isn't anyone else's name attached it's yours.
Bads:
1. Jesse holley. I thought he had turned the corner. Hopefully ps material if not claimed.
2. Crayton trade value. Only a 7th,seriously?
3. Pat McQ. IHOP has ran out of pancakes
Goods:
1. Alex Barron. Well atleast he isn’t Barbie Carpenter.
2. Phil Costa. Could easily be a starter next year.
3. Regular season. A week away.

We used a 7th rd pick on Crayton, so we got back what we spent to get him
It's only a dream till you write it down, and then it becomes a goal.
-Emmitt Smith
unlike last offseason where he was a spectacle
This year he was producing and he is younger and cheaper then hurd and was still a good ST player

He's cheaper than Hurd
Not sure about the younger, Hurd’s only 25.
Hurd is a superior WR, and one of the best ST players on the roster, otherwise he would’ve been cut for not taking less money.
I never got the excitement over Holley.

My Bads and Goods
I only have 1 bad
-Not keeping Miller as a 4th Running Back. I liked what I saw from him this pre-season, especially in the last pre-season game. I think he could’ve replaced Barber by either late this season or next season as our between the tackles runner. He’s got better speed, he’s younger, more agile, and has good acceleration. Now I do understand that we had needs at other positions, but given how brittle our two lead backs can be at times, the value of another running back to help Tashard Choice shoulder the load should we be in the unfortunate position to be without the services of Barber and or Jones for any length of time cannot go understated.
The Good
1) Trading a disgruntled Patrick Crayton a)before becomes a distraction in the locker room for his lack of playing time; b) a year or so before he becomes a washed up player (he’s 31 with declining speed and doesn’t play special teams); c) for any draft pick given his age and limitations.
2) Keeping McCray and Church at the Safety position. I hope one of these guys can become a play maker that we need at Strong Safety.
3) Convincing Old Man Parcells that he should take Pat McQ and his uselessness off our hands.
It's only a dream till you write it down, and then it becomes a goal.
-Emmitt Smith
They'll probably sign Miller to the PS if he makes it through waivers, IMO
