With the hiring of the RHG as HC and the power he has apparently been given it appears that Cowboy fans are in a state of utter bliss. Maybe even delireum. I've been reviewing the comments on several posts and I can't remember the last time things seemed this good. Not for a head coach hiring. Wade? Campo? Switzer or Gailey? BP maybe?. Not even a player has been this universally approved of. T.O.? Nah. Roy Williams? Nope. Dez Bryant, well, maybe, but this has a different, more permanent, long lasting feel to it. At least to me. This feels like a more "systemic" change, rather than just adding/subtracting from something that is inherently flawed.
Even after the playoff win against the Eagles last year it wasn't THIS positive. At least I don't remember it being so. Is it because of JJ's statements about JG having final say over all coaches and players? Is it because, on the surface at least, it appears that JJ might, maybe, somehow be giving up some of his power? I mean, it's what everyone has been hoping for, right? it's only natural to become ecstatic if you think it's going to happen. It's as though you're a kid at Christmas and when you shake that present it sure SOUNDS like that erector set you've been praying for.
I'm not quite sure what to make of this or how to feel. I mean, I'm very, VERY happy. But, I've been happy before only to have it turn to bitter disappointment when it turned out to not be all I thought it was going to be. I'm sure a lot of Cowboy fans are feeling similar misgivings. We want it to be true SO bad we can taste it, but we're leery of having our hearts broken again.
So, is it true? Is this REALLY a sign of things to come? Are things REALLY going to be different this time?
