What Separates "Blogging the Boys" From Other Team Sites?

Usually in the lead up to a football game, I and other Pats fans visit the opposing team's site to.. well, talk football.

It's nothing unusual.  It's usually an okay experience with ups and downs.   So far this year I and others have visited the sites for all of our divisional rivals and more.  We were always welcomed for the most part, even by the Jets fans at Gang Green Nation.   We are always welcoming to individuals who would like to talk football, and of course the upcoming game, over at Pats Pulpit.  Because, hey, why not?  It's nice to get the opposite perspective and helps us be better informed as to what we can expect on Sunday.

Following this however I don't think I'll be part of the friendly exchange.  Unlike Dolphin fans, Charger fans, Bills fans, Raider fans, and even Jet fans, for some reason the moment we try talking football the conversation on this site is hijacked to "talk"(bitch) about Spygate; a scandal that ended years ago.   It's perplexing.  It makes no sense to me.  Not the same division, not the same conference, and no unusual rivalry that I can think of.  Yet look at the thread from my last fanpost and almost the entire discussion was dominated by words like "cheaters", "Belicheat", et cetra from not one or two but a large number of different posters.   All in all, not very welcoming or encouraging to fans of football.  Fans of flamming maybe, but not fans of football.

I'm sure there are great fans on this site who genuinely like talking football rather than grasping for cheap online flames.   I'll look forward to interacting with them at Pats Pulpit where we talk football, football, and nothing but football.

All aside, looking forward to Sunday and the rest of your divisional rivals(all of whom we have upcoming games against).
