For a while I have been wanting to contribute something, if not of value then at least of interest. I think I may have found a niche. Today I stumbled upon an article written by Jason Cole in the Yahoo! Sports NFL section. In his article, Cole lists 14 players he feels teams should trade and lists the three teams he feels would be the best fits for these players. Follow the link to read the full, or perhaps I should say fool, article:
http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=jc-cole_trade_deadline_broncos_reggie_bush101311
Cole makes three suggestions that would impact our Cowboys. The first is that the Dolphins should trade Reggie Bush and here he lists the 49ers, the Redskins, and the Cowboys as the best fits for Bush. The last time I looked we already had 4 talented RBs. I humbly suggest that we might look for a new home for Choice, possibly with the Dolphins, but that we don't need to take up a roster spot by adding Reggie Bush. Perhaps Jason Cole was thinking that the Cowboys might like to trade Choice for Bush, but I just don't think Bush brings enough versatility to the table. I would rather see us trade Choice for draft picks.
Cole's next suggestion is even harder for me to understand. He suggests that Carolina trade QB Jimmy Clausen, and lists the Cowboys, the Chargers, and the Seahawks as the best fits. At least with Bush I could find a use for him. What does Cole see when he looks at our Cowboys that makes him think we have any need for Clausen? And assuming Cole lists the teams in the order he thinks of as "best fit, better fit, good fit" then he somehow sees the Cowboys as the best fit for Clausen. I just don't see any benefit for the Cowboys there, unless Clausen can be converted very quickly to either a CB or WR.
Cole's final suggestion that would impact the Cowboys is the Bengals trade QB Carson Palmer to the Seahawks, the Raiders, or the Cowboys. Clearly, Cole underestimates the value of Tony Romo. There is no way Palmer would be interested in coming out of retirement to be Romo's back up. Call me a homer, but I have zero interest in replacing Romo with 90% of his peers. I certainly don't care to replace him with a guy who has been retired for a year and hasn't been that great since his surgery.
I find it interesting that Cole clearly thinks we need help at the QB position, but didn't think the Cowboys should trade any of their current QBs. He thinks we should add a RB, but instead of choosing a goal line beast for us, he picks Reggie Bush. I came away from this article with the distinct impression that while Jason Cole has a good eye for the obvious, he clearly doesn't know much about the Cowboys. Hopefully you don't feel the same way about me at this point.

well I could see Bush as a Viable Felix Clone
and with Bush, Murray and Felix, that sets up an interesting dynamic in the Backfield… think about this:
The Cerberus Package with Felix, Murray and Bush with Austin out wide and Bennett inline as an extra blocker.
that would be a dynamic formation……IMO
Here’s a theoretical play from 2010: Snap. Tony takes 7 step drop. Tony looks left at Miles, who is doubled, and looks right to where Roy Williams should be…but instead sees Colombo on his back and a Defensive End foaming at the mouth jumping over Marc’s carcass. Tony proceeds to run like hell and look for Witten

Am I the most optimistic Cowboys fan in the World? Yes, due to an "unfortunate accident" to the previous holder of the title.

Consider it copylefted and copylifted. And thanks for the chuckle.

This isn't the first time Cole's name has come up on this site for something stupid.
Clausen to the Chargers? Dude’s on something good.
Rabid and luvin' it
Didn't Gil in the same article he had Bradie James going to the Eagles....
Say that Denver needed to trade for Clausen? Just becuz Fox was who drafted him and would know him best? It ever occur to him that thats the reason he left Carolina in the first place?
Some of these trade scenarios that they throw out are further out there than a sci fi convention on LSD

Bradie James trade
I am at a disadvantage. I live in exile in Vikings/Packer country and I travel a lot. I rarely actually get to watch the Cowboys play. (I will get to see the Cowboys/Patriots this Sunday. I am psyched.) Can anybody explain why everyone is so down on Bradie James, who until this year was our leading tackler? Has he slipped that much?
People want him gone becuz he doesn't make sacks, he doesn't make interceptions...all he does is tackle..
so therefore he’s boring and doesn’t do enough to help the team win….I think he’s been good for us for awhile…a good solid MLB who isn’t the best in coverage but I don’t think I can ever recall a game that we lost due to him. He’s been the heart of this defense for awhile and while he doesn’t have the athleticism of a Bruce Carter he has solid instincts for the position.

HAHAHAHAHA
So damn true!
Roger: Hey, with this mortar launcher, we can get back at the kid who went all Tom Sizemore on your eye!
Steve: Oh, I wish I could get back at him. I'm gonna dress up as a girl and get him to have sex with me and then say "Ha! I'm not a girl! You just had sex with a boy that hates you!"
Roger: Yes, let's leave that plan between you, me, and the string of therapists who won't be able to help you.

Cole obviosly gets his team needs from ESPN
who are desperately trying to fuel a get Rid of Romo Rampage.I also read an article saying the Cowboys are in the #SuckForLuck# campaign
All this time I've been trying to figure out why there were all these silly, uninformed articles about the 'boys.
At least now you have found a use for them. Great write up. And tan is correct, you are more on top of the Cowboys.
