HGH testing could be opening pandoras box. Enough suspensions to melt your face off
I don't think we have any reason to think we have juiced out players but you never know. This could be a HUGE problem across the NFL. Linemen, LBs, WRs, RBs ect..... I think that the testing won't start till this upcoming offseason though and we'll just have to deal with it when the time comes.

I don't get it. The NFLPA is just stalling to let their players find away around this.
“we can look them in the eye and say this is a safe and fair process.”
How unsafe can drawing blood be? This isn’t a spinal tap we are talking about here. Cmon on now. They draw blood in malls, parking lots, wherever for the Red Cross all the time.

You are right that they are stalling.
They know players are using it and they don’t want to have to test. The claim that they don’t know if it is safe and accurate is total BS.
I did read in another story on this earlier that they were going to start taking blood in the next week and if the union won’t agree to the testing yet the blood would be stored to be tested later.
Yes, the union is stalling.
But, they also have somewhat of an argument. Drawing blood can be dangerous. I had two individuals that worked for me suffer nerve damage/loss of strength in their forearms, wrists and hands because the phlebotomist hit the nerve while drawing blood. Of course, they were military phlebotomists, and many of us know how scary some of our military med folks are.;)
One guy recovered after about 6 months of therapy. The other guy was medically discharged.
That’s why I’ll only let people take blood from the middle of the joint instead of the inside or outside. Yeah, those veins are more visible sometimes. But, they’re also too close to some major nerve bundles for my tastes. I’ve already got enough nerve damage on my left side.

And what % is that to happen?
I volunteer for the red cross and i too was in the military and have never ever saw someone injured when blood was drawn.
Its the NFL you know they will have the right people doing this and with that there is a less than 1% anything can happen

Then you're lucky...congrats.
True, there’s not a high percentage of occurrences. But, we’re talking multi-million dollar careers here too. Just one high profile occurrence is all it would take. Can you imagine the uproar if they hit a nerve on Brady’s arm?
Yup, small chance. But, there is a chance. And that’s all the NFLPA needs to argue and stall.

greater chance of blown acl.

Definitely.
But an ACL happens as a part of playing. This would be something off the field that could jeopardize a career. Something they don’t have to deal with now. Something they don’t want to have to deal with in the future.
Some interesting reading for you:

And that’s just the numbers from blood donations. Very difficult to find the numbers for how many times it’s happened as a result of drawing blood for testing. Many are mild and last only a week or so. That could easily be a game missed. Others are permanent.
Look, I’ve already conceded that it’s rare. But, there is a CHANCE…one in 6,300 for blood donors as a matter of fact.
It’s not an overwhelming arguing point, but it’s enough for the NFLPA to use to drag this thing out and sow a seed of doubt. Sometimes, that’s all it takes.

Well it wasn't during a blood test
But my Aunt had nerve damage done because of an injection
Here’s a theoretical play from 2010: Snap. Tony takes 7 step drop. Tony looks left at Miles, who is doubled, and looks right to where Roy Williams should be…but instead sees Colombo on his back and a Defensive End foaming at the mouth jumping over Marc’s carcass. Tony proceeds to run like hell and look for Witten

Am I the most optimistic Cowboys fan in the World? Yes, due to an "unfortunate accident" to the previous holder of the title.

I am sure its possible but what are the odds
These are stud athletes that I am sure have gigantic veins and such. Not too mention this wouldn’t exactly rank on the top 100 riskiest things they do in a week.
The safe bit is just an act to stall

Nearly any phlebotomist will tell you...
muscular people are some of their most difficult insertions. The veins roll much easier. They always hated it when I was cutting weight and working out a lot.
