Looking For The Right Kind Of Guys - Hey Coach

I'm mad. Usually a pretty balanced guy in relating to football games. I care a lot, but in looking to the future there are always things to take from games. We have watched this team climb from last years midseason disaster to this greatly improved product. We talk the right talk. Our players have learned accountability. The team is tougher. The complainers and malingerers are gone. Everything just smells better. But we have a problem here. Not sure how to fix it.  We needed this win. We had this win in our hand. The Defense held the Patriots to a 3 and out with just over 3 minutes left. We proceeded to run / run / PENALTY / run. And we punted. Who else had their face in their hands after that incredibly pathetic set of calls? The first run was one of those perfectly horrible calls where the entire Defense is waiting for the ball carrier. Lose 2 yards. We follow this with another one like it. Lose 1 yard. Then take a 5 yard penalty for jumping offside. Then, of course, it's 3rd and 18 and we run a draw play.

PUNT

... cue Tom F'ing Brady.

We lose.

Now I'd like to suggest the idea of giving "Looking For The Right Kind Of Guys - Hey Coach" the choice of trying for 2 first downs to win the game OR going 80 yards in 22 seconds. But that wouldn't be right. You cannot deal in questions by looking back and then hypothesizing scenarios like that. But what I can seriously ask is why you did not want to go for the win? That Tom Brady over there. You want to give the ball back to him? When you're watching the tapes of this watch those throws. Maybe you're somehow unaware of this players skills. He has not lost @ Gillette in 31 starts now. Either you have a lack of faith in Romo or you chickened out. Either one of those 2 is a bad thing. If you do not believe in Romo than we should start looking for the replacement NOW. Trade him. Do anything else. If you cannot trust him in that scenario than we are like the Niner's. Waiting for our QB to wreck the year. Because he will.

But I don't believe that is the answer. I think "Looking For The Right Kind Of Guys - Hey Coach" chickened out. Played it safe and hoped the D would bail him out. Well I'm not falling for it. And I doubt I'm alone.  You keep preaching about being "The right kind of guy" for this team. Right now you're not "The right kind of guy" for our team. Fix his garbage. Show some stones. And play to win. I don't want a Marv Lewis coach here and I don't want you impersonating him. I am horribly disappointed. I thought you were more than this.
