Is Tony Romo is too old to win a Super Bowl?

If you review this link, the only QBs who have won a Super Bowl in the last 20 years or so are QBs that are pretty much considered all-time greats.  Regardless of what you think of Romo, I don't think anyone considers him an all-time great and I don't think he can change at this point.  He is what he is.

Star-divide

2010 - Brees, 31

2009 - Roethlisberger, 26

2008 - Eli, 27

2007 - Peyton, 30

2006 - 'Berger, 23

2005 - Brady, 27

2004 - Brady, 26

2003 - Brad Johnson, 34 (aberration, in my opinion)

2002 - Brady, 24

2001 - Dilfer, 28

2000 - Warner, 28

'99 - Elway, 38

'98 - Elway, 37

'97 - Favre, 27

'96 - Aikman, 29

'95 - Young, 33

'89, '90 - Montana 32, 33

I know Romo has less NFL years than most since he didn't start until 2006, but I think age is still a factor.  Unless he dramatically changes his gameplay by cutting out the turnovers, I don't think he can buck the trend and win it from this point going foward.

No. He's too stupid!

I think there may be something to what Terry Bradshaw said about Romo

He was a scout team quarterback, where he was trained to go for it at any time a guy was open no matter what. So on the field, he goes for the throat no matter the game situation. Personally I think that is probably a good thing, however there is the contrary viewpoint, to live to fight another day.

Perhaps he could work on his situation football, get better at managing a game, closing out a win you know. But I still think he is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league and you would be hard pressed to find one significantly better.

talent at qb is not what this team needs.

Cowboys don’t need talent at qb, they need somebody who fits in with the rest of the team. That is what is important. Not numbers, and not talent. Team effort. Every player is equal. Not 1 fake media hyped fake feelgood movie music sitcom episode and a bunch of nobodys. An entire team that shares the spotlight. Not 1 guy hogging it, with brainwashed media readers doing the same.

I was honestly a lot more fearful of Kitna starting this game than Romo, but he is so old you cannot really build around him

I am not sure what the answer would be. Maybe Kyle Orton from Denver?

terry i don't know why u triple posted that, we got it the 1st time

i think romo is good enough to win but he’s got to minimize his mistakes

That does not answer the question at all

If the team never wins the Super Bowl, but Romo retires with every Cowboys passing record, will you consider the ROmo era a success? Come on, be bold and answer the question that is asked

Romo will win us a Superbowl

This team can still go 13-3, imagine that! Everyone predicted this team to go 10-6 or worse they even predicted this would be a loss yet are surprised. Ill take the 1 loss 2 win 1 loss 2 win trend any day.

2-2 with

Romo
Austin
Dez
Felix
Witten
Bennett
Costa
Nagy
Free?
Hatcher
Newman
Scan
Jenks
now Sensi
Buehler

and maybe even more injuries. Ill take 2-2 going into a bye with JG and Rob at the helm and a comfortable October schedule. 13-3 How bout them Cowboys!

love ur optimism big

but the last time we went 13-3 we didn’t get a damn thing just another playoff exit i would rather have a 07 giants or 10 packers record & replicate their success when it really mattered

Romo

still thinks he’s at Eastern Illinois. I don’t know if you saw Dieon’s feelings on Romo yesterday but he’s now saying he’s done believing in Romo, and the Cowboys would be better off drafting someone else. The mistakes he makes are rookie mistakes, but this is his sixth year as a starter, ninth year in the league overall. If he’s still making the same mistakes over and over again, there’s no way he’ll change. It might be better to just draft a QB in the first or second round next year and let Romo go.

hey i'm not saying don't draft a qb

cause u always want to continue building for the future to prevent those (2000-02) dark yrs.. if u can find somebody better than romo right now then eh bring em along, i’m a cowboys fan before any player.
