Not quite sure if y'all have been noticing what I have these past few weeks, but it seems as though on Sunday against the NE Pats Romo just looked defeated coming out the gate. I have been noticing our QB has been up and down starting with week 1. To start the season he and Ware both come out looking just pissed. They look like they have something to prove and they dont care who gets in their way. Now unfortunately for Romo the only one that got in his way was himself that game. Come into week two and we have a determined Romo if not slightly upset, which I think was a good thing at the time. After a win like they had there in OT away and injured we get a very encouraging win, with lots of help from Austin might I add. Now finally after so many away games we get our first home game against a division rival who just got done beating the Giants. So Romo comes out looking maybe a little pained, but has his normal charismatic smile we all are used to. Then with another close game and thanks to our young rookie QB we squeek out a win and were looking pretty beat up for a short week. It's never easy to go from Monday night to Sunday morning and its even tougher when your number 2 go to guy is gonna be out for the second week in a row. You go into the game against an undefeated team at home but with your number 2 WR falling way short of what it used to be. Ogletree was all over the place in his routes and Romo never knew where he would be. Then take into account that he's going up against one of the stoutest dline's out ther with questions about your incredably young oline. Now we still see that smile coming from that tough divisional game, but there seems to be some apprehension as well.
So what's he do goes out there and slings it tearing them up in the first 3 qtrs only to have it all coming to a crashing halt in the 4th and he sees yet another loss that he knows they shoulda won. So now 2 weeks he's taken the blame souly for the losses because he's not the kind of guy to throw a teammate under the bus. Now I'll admit he shoulder a good bit of the blame rightfully it was 2 pick 6s he threw in the Lions game that lost it for us and while I believe it was the blocked punt returned for a TD that won the Jets game(and a lack of penalties called on them too) I can see the other side of the coin with to TO on his part one leading to a FG. Now we see him come into the Pats stadium straight beat I knew right then that we weren't going to be the jump out team we had been agaisnt the Lions. I even paused it to show my wife to get her take and make sure I wasn't overreacting. Romo looked defeated coming into this game, not exactly what you want form your franchise QB! This in a comment from starbury_to_s-jaxci2000 really summed it up for me:
ugh, just watched inside the nfl
showed how dez had 1 on 1 at least twice in the second half in the redzone and when the cowboys talked about it on the sideline romo said “i didnt want to turn it over” SMH his ego is wrecked right now.
Now I'm not sure what I'm gonna see coming into the Rams game, but I'm hoping for our old charismatic Romo to appear and show us an amazing show with Austin and Bryant as the main attractions! If I could I'd tell Mr. Romo how proud I am to have him as my teams QB and that I know he can take us all the way to Glory. Given the hig powered defense we have and the dynamic receivers this team has if our running game can become consistently average with 4 yards a carry we easliy have what it takes at QB to stop any team out there even the Packers. I do however think that we are gonna need some oline help for our young rookie back Murray, due to what I saw against the Pats he can break tackles just needs that first initial push to get him to the secondary and he can be free and clear. Mr. Romo I hope you get your confidence back in both your receivers and yourself. You can make those throws I've seen you do plenty of times and can't wait to see them again so go out there and light em up!
