Post-game interview with McCoy he was asked how they used the bye week to prepare for the Cowboys. He said we did not spend it planning for the Cowboys -- we looked at our tendencies and corrected what we had been doing. So the Boys prepared for pre-bye week Eagles and got beat by post-bye week Eagles. It was obvious from how our defense was making reads that were all wrong. Our linebackers were consistently out of position and our defensive backfield was defending against a non-existent deep perimeter passing game. So the tight-ends and backs run wild on underneath passes and once Lee goes out, the only linebacker with pass defending skills is gone.
Then our offense seemed indecisive as to whether to stay with a running game or attack and try to get back into the game quickly. Combine that with dropped passes (or MB's tip drill to the other team) and we are out of it before half time. Both the Saints and Cowboys -- overconfidence. It will not happen next time!
