NFL Week 10 Odds: (ATS, M/L, O/U)
Man, what in the world is happening to Norv Turner's San Diego Chargers? Last night's game was ridiculous to watch and yes, I'm bitter because I went with San Diego. I've been a Raider backer most of the season, but once Jason Campbell went out, I thought their season was over. Ponder that for a second... a season's hope resting on the loss of the former Redskins signal caller. Then they lose Darren McFadden and get blown out by Tim Tebow. Tim Tebow?
Regardless, the performance of new Raiders QB Carson Palmer poses many questions for me. Palmer went 11 months without participating in football activities. If you ask Bengals fans, that number might be closer to 36. His numbers before leaving Cincinnati weren't horrible, but as I've said before, he was the king of filler stats. Yardage once the game was out of reach and turnovers to thwart comebacks were his weekly ritual. Now, rookie Andy Dalton comes in and has the Bengals sitting at 6-2. Palmer, with much rust, is now playing at a high level after pouting his way to a trade away from the Queen City.
Am I the only one considering that Palmer was tanking it while in Cincinnati?
Anyways, last week was a good one for prognostication; with only some late-game let-ups keeping it from being double-digit-goodness.

On to the picks, as we have some of the juiciest matchups of the season on slate this weekend. Not only is Dallas facing off against a formidable Buffalo team on Sunday, there are six other contests featuring teams at or above .500. Those battles will start help shaping the playoff picture now that we've reached double-digit weeks.
Pittsburgh-Cincinnati, Detroit-Chicago, Patriots-Jets and Saints-Falcons are all intradivision battles that feature contempt and familiarity. If you thought you'd be alright without Sunday Ticket, this might be the first weekend you reconsider.

Odds can be very Odd
If you get them all right, I’ve got some work for you at The Bellagio.

That’s an awful lot of games in the 1:00 pm slot.
What are the odds that the Eagles have a sandich game against the Cardinals? Coming off an emotional loss to the Bears, and looking ahead to next week’s game against the Giants, is it conceivable the Eagles lose against an "easy" team like Arizona, especially with Kolb out?.

3 upsets i can see,
Bengals win .
Colts win.
Bucs win.
did’nt have the nerve to pick them in KD’s 10 for 10 though.

Go Cowboys!!
I could see NYG in an upset, too
and I wouldn’t be too surprised if BUF wins (arrrrgh – that tasted bad just saying that)

Agreed on the Giants , though i don't see it as an upset.
i’m thinking despite the injuries the Giants might turn out to be a pretty decent team.
hope i’m wrong though.

yep, just saying "upset" in terms of VEGAS
they’re the underdog and qualify for an “upset special”

Good thing you didn't pick them.
None of those teams won.
Cowboys and Longhorns - getting up off the turf to win another day.
Spurs? It's football season!
Dallas in "have to win" mode.
A loss and a late game Giant win over SF puts us 3 back, 7 to play. And the long anticipated winning streak continues to be postponed and it is getting very late. Not mathematically eliminated, but psychologically in a deep hole. To mix metaphors, I keep seeing Sisyphus pushing that rock uphill just to watch it roll all the way back down. Let’s just blow the rock up.

already at the point of watching other teams
need the Saints to beat the Falcons and the Lions to beat the Bears. Both have easy scheds, especially Bears. Houston could do us a solid by beating TB as well.
Of course the qiuckest path to the playoffs is not losing and say screw what every1 else does.

Palmer quitting
Last year for FF I had an idea. With TO and Chad together and that Defense they were putting up in Cincy, it seemed like they might go far. And I was able to draft them both. And not too early. The results of this plan? GENIUS, They ate up my team all year. Their stats were occasionally good. The problem was consistency. You get a couple weeks with nothing good. Bench one of them and watch 100 yards and 2 TD’s crop up. The real GENIUS behind the plan was that I started watching as much Bengals football as I could. Trying to figure out what was going on. Oh joy.
And the problem was Owens and Johnson. They would not committ to trying week in and week out. They took series’ off. Sometimes whole games. They blocked when they wanted to. Maybe for some they blocked and others they did not? Who knows. And it drove Palmer nuts. They pulled up on routes at the craziest of times. Some of the INT’s were so horrid you did not want to see the replay. And it made him want out. Now Johnson might just be done as a WR. Or too slow to figure out an offensive gameplan. But you look around. No one picked up TO. And he can still play. But I’m sure those that looked at the film from last year saw this too. and it’s why he does not have a place to play this year.
