Here is my next installment of my series called Position Outlook, where I will be profiling each position and the Players that Dallas has for that position. I will be giving MY opinion on the relative strength of the position, and How likely I think Dallas will be drafting that position in the 2012 NFL Draft. I will include All current players+ practice squad in this evaluation
Now I will be using Stats from NFL.com(where applicable) and NFLDraftScout.com(where applicable) as the Basis for my Evaluation.I will also be giving the Contract Info via Rotoworld .com, along with a few things from the Mothership(DC.com) Once I have shown the players, I will rank them using the 5 star method as Follows:
5 Stars- Minimum Amount of Quality Starters at Position and At least one quality Backup for Position= BPA only if player is ranked significantly higher than any other player, and would not be a factor in FA
4 Stars- Minimum amount of Quality Starters at position, Unproven Depth = Address as BPA and FA for Depth
3 Stars- Minimum of one Quality player at starter, young, but unproven Depth=slight need, BPA in rounds 4-7 preferably, look to fill need in FA
2 Stars-Serviceable Starter(s), No Depth = solid need, BPA if within rounds 1-3 if not taken care of in Free Agency
1 Star- No Quality players at starter nor in depth= major need, Draft no later than 2nd round, would take precedence over BPA if Gap is close enough, and is a must target in Free Agency
The series so far:
QB position 3 stars
Offensive Tackle position 4 stars
Now this week I will be profiling the Offensive Guard position. I was thinking of saving this position for one of the last ones because there are so many unknowns at this position.

(Author's Note: Loper is listed as a Tackle on NFL.com, yet is considered a guard on DC.com. I am assuming that he is a G/T for Dallas and would only play tackle if Parnell was hurt. However if we include Loper in our Tackle Rating, then that would move it up from a 4 star rating to a 5 star rating. I am hesitant to do this because of the frequency that Dallas has cut and resigned Loper.)

So as you See, Holland, Dockery and Kosier are serviceable starters, yet Are on short Contracts. I imagine Hollands is comparable to Dockery's in that it is probably a one year deal. Most are saying that We need to draft a Guard in the higher rounds, however I disagree. We have a couple of players in Arkin and Nagy that may be able to start(Nagy in fact already has). Yet due to the lockout neither of them as had a "true Offseason" so IMO they are unproven. However at worst they should provide young, serviceable depth for the forseeable future. I give this position a solid 3 Stars- Minimum of one Quality player at starter, young, but unproven Depth=slight need, BPA in rounds 4-7 preferably, look to fill need in FA
As always I look forward to your comment and critiques. Poll to decide next post(should go up during eagles week, unless I get WWGD up early)
