So here is the latest installment of What Will Garrett Do(WWGD)? In this Series of posts I am going to look at the Defenses that Dallas will be facing this year. I will give a Scouting report on each, then based off that I will try to set out what I think the Game plan that I think Garrett will employ. This will be based off my "Air Garrett" posts (Version 1,Version 2) where I set out this statement:
That is what I think "Air Garret" is all about. Attacking the Defense at it's weakest point. Study the opponents carefully. Find out where they are lacking defensively. I bet you will see alot of plays designed to target that area.
So on Thursday, November 24th, 2011, The Dallas Cowboys (6-4) will be at home against the Miami Dolphins(3-7). As we know Miles is still out however, and hopefully Fiammetta will have recovered. So I doubt that there will be any significant changes. So lets Look at the Dolphins Defense, shall we?
So at a glance, the Dolphins are allowing 18.6 points per game(6th), with 251.1 ypg(25th) passing and 96.7ypg(7th) rushing. But as always lets dig a little deeper in to the stats, so lets look at the Offenses that the Dolphins have faced:

So what goes all this state? Well it Looks like the Dolphins haven't really been tested Defensively. And what I mean by that is that of the Teams that the Dolphins have faced only Houston, San Diego and New England offer Excellent Offenses. And only San Diego would have Skill position players comparable to Dallas. And that is only at the QB and WR positions. I would say that Murray and Felix are better than any RB's that San Diego has at the moment.
So lets look at the Defensive roster for the Dolphins:
| Left Inside Linebacker | Karlos Dansby | Austin Spitler | |
| Right Defensive End | Randy Starks | Jared Odrick | Phillip Merling |
| Left Outside Linebacker | Koa Misi | Jason Taylor | Ikaika Alama-Francis |
| Left Defensive End | Kendall Langford | Tony McDaniel | |
| Right Outside Linebacker | Cameron Wake | Jason Trusnik | |
| Free Safety | Reshad Jones | Chris Clemons | |
| Right Inside Linebacker | Kevin Burnett | Marvin Mitchell | |
| Left Cornerback | Sean Smith | Will Allen | Nate Jones |
| Strong Safety | Yeremiah Bell | Tyrone Culver | |
| Right Cornerback | Vontae Davis | Nolan Carroll | Jimmy Wilson |
| Nose Tackle | Paul Soliai |
So who are the "playmakers" on this Defense?

So by the Looks of things The Dolphins are average at stopping the pass, and are good at stopping the run. Their CB's are either slow and Big or quick and Small, Their Pass rush is average at best, and they really haven't come across an Offense as Diverse as Dallas'.
So What Will Garrett Do? Well I think that Garrett will Employ the Same Gameplan that he has had for the last few Games. GEt the Ball to Dez/Robinson(who ever is covered not covered by Smith) on the short routes and go After Sean Smith on the Deeper Routes. With Fiammetta likely out, I would Imagine that Dallas will use Murray and Felix more in the Passing game, along with avoiding the "Inside Runs". Relying instead on Sweeps, Counters, and other misdirection.....No Funky Formation this week however.
I welcome Any Comments and Critiques especially from any Dolphin Fan that comes over. While this post will only be Relevent for a couple of Days Feel Free to use this as an open thread to smack talk and the like....and just to get things started....Remember this?
