Not as good as Bob's

I've traveled all over the world all over the world and nowhere is as good as Bob's steak and chop. You might say this meal was fantastic but Bob's is a better value. This meal is priced pretty well but it is not as good as Bob's. ( I think the wording might be off a little but that is more or less how that commercial goes)

What in the world?

Yup I have discovered the best app for my phone that allows me to listen to pretty much any radio station anywhere in the country. I have since discovered that means despite the handicap of living in Utah I can listen to the talk radio stations in Dallas. You have no idea how happy that has made me. On thing that really, really stands out if you listen to enough talk radio and especially if you listen to 1310 the Ticket is the aforementioned commercial (that will be edited correctly when I hear it again or someone tells me in the comments).

This has become a running joke between myself and my coworker. Hey nice job moving those boxes, yeah but not as good as Bob's. This McFlurry was pretty cheap but Bob's is a better value. And so on and so forth. This has been applied to pretty much every situation ad nauseam. I honestly have thought about going to the one in California just because of this commercial.

Now to get to my point, we as Cowboy's fans know what is like to be Bob's. In the early to mid 90s there was no one that was better than us. EVER and in my humble opinion we have yet to see someone who has equaled that team. So if we know what is Bob's how do we get there? We've been there before what is missing to make us as good as Bob's? I think we still have to trim the fat off our roster (Martellus Bennett, Kevin Ogletree, Terence Newman, Felix Jones as a starter, Keith Brooking, Kyle Kosier, David Buehler, Bradie James, John Kitna, etc). We've made some good cuts already getting rid of guys like Marion Barber, Roy Williams's, Tashard Choice, Chris Gronkowski, etc but not enough. I know it is maybe unrealistic to expect to get rid of all the fat right away but it sure would be nice.

As far as economics well it seems we could definitely improve on the bang for the buck part of our franchise and the easiest way to do that is through the mid rounds of the draft. The best example of course comes from our steal of the draft maybe DeMarco Murray. Really we got him in the 3rd round!? It looks like Tyron Smith might be more than just our RT of the future imho he has thoroughly outplayed Doug Free. Another great pickup of course is the Hawaiian Tony Fiammetta cut by Carolina and swoped up by us. That sure has worked out for us huh?

If we trim the fat and keep adding in guys that give us better ROI (return on investment) then maybe just maybe we can once again become like Bob's.
