December

Hey guys, let me start by saying I am a Cowboys fan and I always will be. I love the Cowboys but this December makes me nervous. Every time I see that stat about the Cowboys December performance I have to cringe. What I'm wondering is if you guys see anything that makes you believe that this team will be any different and how much of a difference December has been for the Cowboys. Are those awful looking statistics they show on TV true? This year, I think the Cowboys have looked like a playoff team.

But this is December. As a Cowboys fan, December is NOT the most wonderful time of the year. In fact, I get nervous every December. This is crunch time. Where winners are born. But don’t the Cowboys always fall apart each December? Lets take a look.

In 2010, the Cowboys were under Jon Kitna, and won two games. All stats from NFL.com

Clearly not so great. But this was Jon Kitna and was in my opinion a tough year for the Boys

Lets look at 2009.

Ok two for four again. Not the best, but good enough for the playoffs. But is a .500 record good enough for the playoffs this year? Yes if we win the win the RIGHT games.

2008:

Oh boy. 1-3 is not the best record down the stretch.

2007:

2-4 again. It was good enough that year, will it be good enough THIS year?

I think the Cowboys need to win 3-4 (the one loss in my mind is away at the Giants). But the past couple of years, the Cowboys haven’t had a great record in December. And this will be in their minds (and all over TV). Will this December be different?

I hope so. With DeMarco Murray and Dan Bailey we have a quality running back and a clutch kicker. I hope this December is different. But it makes me nervous. Very nervous. Here’s to a good December.
