Actually, I was wrong twice. During the earlier Eagles game, I wrote a half-intoxicated post about how upset I was with the team. I guess I wasn't really wrong. I was mad. I"m still mad about that game. The silver lining is, that apparently the game upset the team as well. What I was wrong about in the situation was that I was pretty sure they wouldn't turn it around. I even went on a one-day no Cowboys talk hiatus.

Then, a week or two ago I wrote a post entitled "It all comes down to NYG." While this is mathematically pretty accurate, I think there is one way that I was wrong. More on this in a second.

Last night the Eagles mailed it in. That was despicable. That was worse than the Cowboys played against the Eagles by far. I live in Western NY, and Bills fans are cringing at Marshawn Lynch actually gaining yards. Furthermore, one thing the Cowboys have not done recently, as we all know, is slam the door on lesser opponents. Squeaking by Miami and Washington, and even Seattle did not sit well with many here on BTB.

So, I was wrong that it's all about NYG. We need to at least split those games, for sure. But I think we really need to dish it to the Dirty Birds. Blowing out the Eagles would have many positive effects:

• Revenge
• Giving Philly an even worse record
• Momentum toward the end of the season
• Confidence that we can beat teams that are not our caliber
• C'mon, stomping Philly is just fun

So yeah, statistically, the eagles game is not a "must win," but going forward, dusting them off and entering the playoffs with a head of steam may just be the push that the Boys need to make a decent run this year.
