Every Cowboys fan must read this...

and thank their lucky stars (pun intended) that Jerry Jones owns the Dallas Cowboys.

http://mirror.washingtoncitypaper.com/articles/40063/the-cranky-redskins-fans-guide-to-dan-snyder.html

It is hard to slam Jerry for his many football blunders after reading this.  I realize that Jones may have skeletons in his closet that he has done a better job hiding, but the owner of the Redskins is a tool.

Dan Snyder is truly a slimeball.

Dan Snyder, Mike Brown, and Al Davis are the worst

I have no clue how any of those 3 teams have fans. They will always be failures of franchises.

At least we have some hope our Cowboys won’t always be average-at-best…

The Ohio State Buckeyes are your Sugar Bowl champions... and for the 7th year in a row Michigan still sucks.

by Blue Eyed Devil on Feb 2, 2011 5:23 PM CST reply actions

Al Davis does not belong in the group

He has had a lot of success in the NFL and was one of the driving forces behind the NFL-AFL merger. So he has not won in awhile, but he same thing can be said about Jones and what he has done to the Cowboys since JJ left the building

bad decisions

and rotten record since Jimmy left. But wasnt everybody gushing how much talent this team had until the 2010 debacle?

huh

Jimmy was bad?

I think he means running Jimmy off.

If you can't fix it with a hammer, you've got an electrical problem.

by White Wolf on Feb 3, 2011 1:38 AM CST up reply actions

Bingo

Thats what iam talking about. Running Jimmy off. Signing T.O to an extension, then running him off. T.O got 6 million for nothing. So that 6 million went against the cap. Then to replace him, Jethro trades for Roy Williams and signs him to a huge contract. With all that wasted money and draft choices ( 1 2 and 5 ). A few smart moves and the Cowboys could have been a top team.

Trying to get wirter fired

supposedly Snyder has told the paper that if they don’t fire the writer of the article he is going to sue them.

by cbow59 on Feb 2, 2011 7:40 PM CST reply actions

I live in DC, and I can attest

that probably 90-95% of the article is true. Truthfully, living in the heart of Redskins country, I realize that there are a lot of very nice people who love their team no matter what. Snyder’s approval rating with the fans is probably 10%…he’s almost like Donald Sterling is to Clippers fans. It’s hard for me to hate the Skins when they are run with this kind of incompetence leading to the yearly demoralization of a lot of very nice and team-loyal people.

Jerry is better than Snyder, far better. But still, I think Jerry gets way too much credit from fans as a “great owner” because of the three rings. In the last 15 years, Jerry has been about an average owner: terrific at marketing the team, but we have to count his weak coaching hires and his employment of a bad GM against him.

I live 20 mins outside DC also

Sad to say but all that stuff in that article is the truth

former employees at the local Six Flags have told me, it’s easy to believe the outdated peanuts and other food shenanigans , employee treatment and “marketing ploys”. It starts at the top…

regarding those "dream seats"...

my cousin’s hubby has front row cardinals tickets, and acts like they are concert seats, advertising them as such. he was trying to sell those seats for the dallas/az game on christmas for $850, when they were going for $250 on stub hub. i told him that, and he claimed that he wasn’t stub hub. funny how those tix dropped, the closer the game got. last i heard they were $200 a few days before the game. i’m guessing he got $100 for the pair, if he was LUCKY. i once sat in those seats…and they SUCK!! i’d rather watch the game on a 19" black and white tv, drinking warm beer. what a tool!

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/Washington-Redskins-owner-Daniel-Snyder-sues-newspaper-over-alleged-defamation-anti-Semitic-references-020211

The suit claims the weekly newspaper used ‘’lies, half-truths, innuendo and anti-Semitic imagery to smear, malign, defame and slander’’ Snyder.

The anti-Semitic is for the altered picture where they made him look like the devil. Hmmm, didn’t think that would qualify, but whatever.

Rabid and luvin' it

by lonewolfz28 on Feb 3, 2011 10:11 AM CST up reply actions

Well it wouldn't qualify if you think about it rationally and reasonably.

Try thinking about it as a paranoid hysterical or a calculated opportunist… see how it qualifies now?

Truly another must-read

Danny Boy is already backpedaling

This from the cbssports rapidreports:

Owner Dan Snyder said his defamation lawsuit against The Washington City Paper was the advice of Tony Wyllie, the Redskins senior vice president of communications. “He wanted to do it,” Snyder told ESPN 980.

He keeps a lot of lawyers employed. What a weasel d*ck.

Steve Young

Now there is a guy, that thanks Jerry every day. If Jerry had not run Jimmy off and then hired Barry Switzer. Steve would have never got that monkey off his back. No ring and no HOF. Bret Farve would not have gotten a ring either. Oh Jerry, It’s not too late. Jerry the owner must fire Jerry the GM. A Dallas Cowboys with a Jerry owner and GM, will be forever sucking Alan Balls!!!!!!!!!!

by cowboy north on Feb 3, 2011 7:34 PM CST reply actions

Its time to end the cartel

All NFL teams should be owned by fans like the packers, instead of being held hostage by the likes of Snyder. Sure some teams have great owners. But the league would be more competitive (and perhaps more fan friendly) if the presidents of football operations had to answer to a board of directors.

The ice cream deal was kinda funny, actually

Childish, but humorous.

"I just wrote the check, it's up to you guys to cash it!" - Jimmy Johnson to defense after failed attempt on 4th down deep inside Cowboy territory. AND THEY DID!!!!

in fact, the writer of this guide is getting sued by Dan Snyder – but the problem is, he’s only recounting what is widely known

by AustonianAggie on Feb 7, 2011 1:16 PM CST reply actions

Snyder is scum

I actually feel bad for Redskins fans who are getting squeezed for every dollar possible. No owner treats his fans worse than Snyder. Though the Jerry has been coming up with innovative ways to gouge fans. This is a problem league wide, and is a natural growth out of the massive popularity of the league. However, the NFL has gone too far between PSLs, charging full price for preseason, parking, etc. If there is a major work stoppage next year they are asking for trouble with fans.
