Fed Judge Rules for NFLPA
This has significant consequence in that the NFL may not be able to use TV Revenues in the event of a work stoppage. One of the reasons they wanted the lockout ASAP after the CBA expired was to get cases out of Doty's court. Now we know why.

Throughout the process...
Doty has been an advocate judge and has been making rulings based on his own personal conviction in the dispute rather than any solid interpretation of contract law.
That being said… I’m still somewhat grateful that he actually made the ruling. From a legal standpoint, I’d probably disagree with him, but this could bring us one step closer to getting a CBA done. The owners have lost a bit of their leverage and incentive to lockout with this.
+1
it’s huge! This was the reason owners didn’t really have to negotiate, they had guaranteed revenue from TV contracts. Now everyone loses if there is no season/lock out. Great ruling!

One small step
for incompetence, one giant leap for football fans.
