Owners against Players

Stay connected for news and updates

Look, in my humble opinion - I'm not a far right winger when it comes to unions. I think Unions can be very effective at protecting workers in a number of ways and wage is one of them. Just like with everything, when someone crosses a line and attempts to harm the other in  the name of profit or greed - you have really lost my sympathy for that side. You gotta find the middle at some point.

These players are making millions playing a game. They will not be hurt if the owners want to take more money as long as they are using some of it to put back into the sport. i.e. new stadiums, new players, etc etc.

I think the rookie wage in the NFL is robbery pure and simple. I also think the owners resistance to make concessions to the folks who make their money for them is equally awful.

In this case, as ugly as it is right now, this will probably work out for both parties. But one side shouldn't try and force a deal down the others throats either. Deal are really easy to make if both side are acting in good faith.

I think both side are not acting in good faith. The owners need to back off the stonewalling and get serious about negotiating a deal. The players need to stop acting like children with their comments in the press. Work it out like adults.
