Dallas Cowboys 2011 Pre-Season Schedule Released
The NFL announced the 2011 preseason schedule today, despite not having any resolution in the lockout. The 6-10 Cowboys witness the first bite of their disappointing season, and are not a part of the national television schedule.
Dallas opens the preseason August 13th at home against the Denver Broncos and their shiny new rookies (currently #2 in the first round). They follow that with a second consecutive home date against another AFC West foe, the San Diego Chargers.
The following week, August 27th, Dallas travels to the Brett Favre-less Minnesota Vikings. Well, at least for now, Brett's been known to pull some stunts. The third preseason game is normally the dress rehearsal for the games that count, so you can target this game to see what kind of progress the team made in it's first training camp under Jason Garrett.
After Minnesota, the Cowboys take their talents to South Beach to face the Miami Dolphins in their preseason finale September 1st.
From there, it's full steam ahead into the teeth of the regular season (we hope).
The NFL preseason schedule kicks of August 7th, with the Hall of Fame Game featuring Chicago and St. Louis.

good
so I dont have to hear them run their mouth all season until we play them for real and beat the snot out of them
our little brother, thats what they are
they pop off when they win a meaningless game when we did look awful but when its for real and DWare is abusing your left tackle and Dez is getting up in that secondaries ass they hide real quick

Yeah, that's fine,
but who gets the governor’s cup? That’s the only trophy in the their case.
Lock n Load
well we have it now
since we won the last game, and we’re not scheduled to play again in the regular season until 2014. will prob play preseason in 2012, but we get to keep it for this year. right there behind our 5 lombardis ;-)
A Vikings official was a guest PFT Live a couple of days ago, and had the following to say:
“We couldn’t even get a preseason game scheduled this year,” Bagley said. “We could not get a partner and the league had to step in and help us get a preseason game scheduled because of that facility. . . . [T]he facility is no longer viable and we’ve got to resolve the issue.”
Yep, looks like Jerry Jones drew the short straw on that game.
Question remains, where will the game be played? Surely not in that wreck of a stadium up there. They can’t move the game to Detroit like they did last time, because the Lions themselves have a home game on the 27th. Would the game stay in Minneapolis, perhaps at the TCF Bank Stadium, or might it move elsewhere …

I've read that two about the Vikings, not able to get a partner. I guess
JJ said yes for a favor to be named later. BTW who knows, there might not even be a preseason games with the stupid CBA and all the lawers
I'm sure they'll change the name to something like LA Surfers, or Beach Bums LOL,
at least the weather is nicer than MInn.
No primetime preseason game? That's not big news.
The Cowboys will get the maximum allotted 5 primetime regular season games…It would be big news if they didn’t…
LAME!
The Dolphins again? I actually like the 4th pre-season game because it gives you a chance to see what you have on your bench and really see these prospects play 4 quarters. Furthermore, it’s more like an actual game with most of the same players starting and finishing, which makes the final score more compelling.
But why do we have to do it against the same lame team as last year? There’s 30 other teams to choose from, why do we have to see the same opponent all over again?
The Ohio State Buckeyes are your Sugar Bowl champions... and for the 7th year in a row Michigan still sucks.

I love preseason games, I love to see who flashes potential and who flounders.
Last year when AOA went darn near sideline to sideline for an INT on Miami’s STARTERS.
When Barry Church did an outstanding job covering none other than SD’s Gates keeping him out of the end zone.
John Phillips while he was healthy!
Who else do I root for on the roster? Hehe.
thank you G
you remember that Akwasi pick too right
that told me he has serious range and speed
Church was great in the preseason covering guys like gates and locking them down
he looked awful in the regular season, hopefully that changes
Phillips was amazing, he is going to be really good
Brent impressed me, I said he should make the team because he can actually ball
he would be a 3-4th round pick this year easily

Nice!
Glad I am not the only one that has that awkward response when people b*t$ about pre season games and “who actually cares about watching them.” Ummmmm, I am. Because I want to know more about the backups and future of my team – even though there will be those that won’t be on the team.
In that ugly preseason before the even uglier season, there were some great flashes from young guys. Lonyae showed something too and that is a story I am interested in seeing. Will he be gameday roster in 2011 or will we draft someone who takes that spot?

He was so excited when he got called up that he had a star cut into his hair.
I thought he looked good also, I would rather draft a slot WR and let him have his shot.
The one thing that stands out is that they are not playing in Cali and they are going to keep TC in one place.

I must protest my innocence
and vehemently deny the charge, to which, if the matter proceeds, I intend to plead not guilty.

man, that's twice!
I need to check Rabble’s posts to see if he suffers the same indignation :)
Of course, there are much worse things to be called than you my friend.

How can you be a NFL fan and not love preseason games
It’s your first taste of pro football in over 6 months, gotta love those first games whether they count or not.
Unfortunately though I don’t think we’ll see NFL football in August or even September for that matter. Hope I’m wrong but I doubt it.

August 13th: Court
August 20: Court
August 27th: Court
September 1st: Court
After that it no longer advertising through “reality” TV, Network-predicted, Sheen-like antics.

Any chance we'll see some capital punishment renderings from the courts?!
Could provide some great ratings and more revenue to squabble over

Oh man, live on-air upside-down crucifictions, 2 per Sunday of regular season missed, one from each side to keep it fair.
And yeah, we’ll give ‘em a fair trial before we execute ’em. With a jury of only the most rabid fans, ones calling for blood vengeance, maybe prime candidates straight outta the Vet’s Lincoln Financial Fields’ holding cells, that sort. Then, when all’s said and done, the season’s back on, we can execute them for being a lynch-mob right before kick-off of the first game back.
So, where do we start? Lawyers or Owners/Players? Coin-toss? Like OT or the SuperBowl. Gotta be fair.
I vote Coin-toss.
