Who are you looking at in the last day of the draft?

The top two names I would like to see Dallas pick in the 4th round are OG Clint Boling from Georgia and the 3-4 DE Christian Ballard from Iowa.

Two other guys I would give consideration to are S DeAndre McDaniels from Clemson and OLB Sam Acho from Texas.

But if I had to put money on the pick I'm going with WR Edmund Gates from ACU.

Some guys that interest me in the 5th round would be:  S Tyler Sash from Iowa, Jerrell Powe from Ole Miss, and Greg Romeus from Pitt.

In the 6th lets just go ahead and pick Kicker Alex Henery from Nebraska.  We've never really had a great kicker and this guy looks like the best one to come out in years.

What say you?

.....

I say we have to take a chance on Ballard. He was a 2nd round prospect before he tested positive. It’s a risk but I think it’s worth it. If not in the 4th I look at either Boling, Burton or Quinton Carter.

Could any of the

Safeties start? or could Boling start ?

Boling would be a great fit at G

Deandre McDaniel

Let him learn behind Sensi, him n AOA could be our future SS n FS

Ballard

Not a good fit as a 5 technique n questions w/ drugs & inconsistent motor & not a great attitude. Pass on this guy.

DeAndre McDaniel

ive wanted him on the Cowboys for a very long time. I have a feeling he’s our 4th round pick. A great tackler, with ball-skills.

i think he may be there in the 5th...

maybe.

boling

boling in the 4th, guy in the 5th

by whitegoat on Apr 30, 2011 3:32 AM CDT reply actions

I dont think Boling will be there for us

Most lists of BPA have him at or near the top. Would you consider a small trade up with Carolina to secure him? Probably have to give up our 4th and 5th picks. I think I would.

by TCBinNYC on Apr 30, 2011 9:39 AM CDT up reply actions

i would consider it

if they like him.

and what about cannon

when do we take a pick on him. i know he has to go through chemo and may be out for a little while, but how many 4th round or later OL have we had start day one since rob petitti.

by whitegoat on Apr 30, 2011 3:39 AM CDT reply actions

idk

how long does it take to recover and get in playing shape after going through chemo? I have to think he wouldn’t start at all this year. I think a 4th is realistic. It’d be like trading our 4th this year for a 2nd next year.

Cannon got royally screwed....

Maybe he becomes a UDFA?

With the 9th Pick Dallas Selects Tyron Smith...Romo Weeps in Joy, and Bennet says"I might get to go out in the Pass Pattern now!"

Yet they will draft a speed LB with a blown wheel!

For me

Boling, Deunta Williams, or Ballard in the 4th would be amazing

I am sure we have several Wr's and TE's left on our boards.

Maybe grab another 6th round CB to cut in training camp. See if we can grab some more St’s players.

I can't help but think...

this pick is leaning towards Brandon Burton. He visited the ranch, fills a need and is sitting about where his value would indicate. Thus far, the 3 Cowboys picks have all been Valley Ranch visitors, and until proven otherwise, it would make sense to assume the trend continues.

by BVandy on Apr 30, 2011 8:57 AM CDT reply actions

I didn't show Burton as a visit...

maybe i’m off.

I just didn’t see him there.

Day 3 Mock

Boling in 4th (or Ballard)
Carter in 5th (if available, or Black, McDaniel, Sash)
Andrew Jackson in the 6th (or Searchy, Shorts)
Henery in 7th (or McElroy, Forbath)

Dude, this would make the draft amazing if we could get that haul today

I really think Boling will be one of the first two players off the board today, so I dont think we have a chance.

by TCBinNYC on Apr 30, 2011 9:44 AM CDT up reply actions

I'd be willing to trade up a few spots for Boling

if the Cowboys like him on the interior line
