What do the coaches really think about the 2011 draft class?

Some interesting quotes from members of the Dallas Cowboys war room to their draftees:

When talking to Bill Nagy, 7th round OL draft pick from Wisconsin, head coach Jason Garrett had this to say, "I had a great visit with Paul Chryst (Wisconsin OC and Garrett confidant) the other day. And he just went on and on about you. We're excited to get you here, we love those Wisconsin offensive lineman and we're really happy to have you with us."

Defensive coordinator Rob Ryan shows his enthusiasim and love of coaching when talking to Josh Thomas, 5th round DB out of Buffalo. Said Ryan, "Lookin' forward to coaching you and making you better than you think you are."

Jimmy Robinson knew exactly the kind of player he was getting in the 6th round with WR Dwayne Harris from Eastern Carolina. The Cowboys newly minted and acclaimed WR coach had this to say to Harris, "The last time I saw you, you and I were sitting at the gate in the airport getting ready to fly out of Indianapolis (location of the NFL scouting combine)."

Much has been made about Jason Garrett's philosophy of drafting high character guys who love to play football. The following line to DeMarco Murray, 3rd round RB out of Oklahoma, affirms the approach. Garrett told Murray, "We picked you because of the kind of player you are, but equally as such, the kind of person you are."

And last but not least, my favorite quote of the bunch. This one comes from Cowboys offensive line coach Hudson Houck talking to David Arkin, 4th round OL pick from Missouri State. "Tell me this, do you really like to hit people?" Arkin emphatically replied, "Oh yeah, I love it. That's what I do man." Love it, love it, love it.
