Classic Wade Phillips: One step forward, two steps back

4

Perhaps others won't agree with me, but I already think this is a bad idea. Apparently, Wade is going to use Mario Williams as an OLB - the biggest one in NFL history I would imagine, since Mario is 6'6" 300 lbs. After having a defensive minded draft that had some Cowboys fans actually missing Wade in the Cowboys war room...looks like Wade is again outsmarting himself. Personally, I would not ask Mario to do anything but rush the passer. He has excelled with his hand on the ground, why stand him up? Sure, maybe Wade wants to make sure Mario has that outside angle that 4-3 DE are used to and thus want to blitz him from the outside as a 3-4 OLB, perhaps this isn't a fulltime thing. If you were Wade, would you really not be happy with Mario and JJ Watt as your 3-4 DE causing pressure every play? Anyway, I thought this was kind of funny.
