Dallas Cowboys Tidbits: Monday June 27th, 2011

With all the publicity-inducing leaks that occurred last week, a glimmer of hope has been shot into NFL fanbases everywhere. Late June normally signals a month long countdown to the opening of training camp. My enthusiasm for anything newsworthy will prevent me, for now, from casting a doubtful eye on the leaks of progress amidst reports from other factions saying that a deal may not be as close as reported. Still, new news is good news, and with that in mind, let's take a look at some recent news affecting the Cowboys 2011 season.

-- NFL Players have meet with their attorneys to discuss last week's talks with ownership. This is on the heels of conference calls that debriefed the constituents on the progress of the NFLPA. [AP via mysanantonio.com]

-- Dez Bryant recently appeared at a charity basketball event. After reportedly throwing down several dunks against NBA players such as Josh Howard and LaMarcus Aldridge, Bryant is proving, publicly, that there is no lingering damage to his ankle that was injured on a kick return late in the season. -- Quarterback Tony Romo continued with his golfing exploits, this time participating in Ray Fischer's event in his home state of Wisconsin. [DMN]

-- Finally,  The Mothership's Josh Ellis recently compiled a list of the top 10 Dallas Cowboys personalities. There are some tough choices to be made here, as the Cowboys have had their share and a couple other teams worth of flamboyant personalities. Terrell Owens, he of the possible career ending ACL injury, ranks 2nd. If you want to see the entire list head on over.
