Setting the Tone in Training Camp

+

interesting blog post on BSPN by Archer about whether JG will be hindered in setting the tone in Training Camp due to sources saying that through the CBA discussions they "effectively eliminated two-a-day practices during training camp." ================= When Jason Garrett took over as interim head coach halfway through last season, he had the players wear pads during most of the Wednesday practices. He believed by being in pads the players would have a physical mindset and he wanted a physical team. As Garrett prepares for his first training camp as head coach here in perhaps a week or so, he will likely have to go without pads more than he anticipated. With player safety near the top of the list in discussions regarding the new collective bargaining agreement, owners "effectively eliminated two-a-day practices during training camp." According to ESPN’s Chris Mortensen, "Teams will be allowed to have some helmetless and padless non-contact walkthrough practices in lieu of a second training camp practice on the same day." (Who knew Wade Phillips was ahead of the game last year with helmet-less practices in Oxnard, Calif.?)
