Free DebateSo, we have debated long and hard about whether or not Free would remain a Cowboy for less than what he could have received by signing elsewhere. I personally was in the camp that said he would not run us through the ringer. Most simply said that if Jerry offerred him a fair contract, he would stay. As far as everything I have come across on OT deals so far, Free's is the highest per year. However, he is the most talented tackle that has been signed so far. Also he can play both sides... He cost us less than many expected ($2M/yr less,) and signed very quickly. This is signifigant because, IMO, we will probably see the going rate of tackles rise over the next few days. This is a new salary cap and teams that are less innovative than the Cowboys are probably waiting to see how chips fall. Now that there is a baseline set for a talented young LT, the price will prob rise. I would say THANK YOU MR. FREE FOR YOUR LOYALTY! What is your opinion?
