The loaded veteran market of available wide receivers could become more loaded if the Cowboys send Roy Williams packing, and it’s looking more and more like that will happen. There are two reasons why Williams is likely going to be a former Cowboy in the near future. The first is he’s making more money than he’s worth. The second is the team wants to clear the way for Dez Bryan [sic] to play more. There will be a healthy market for Williams though. His effort and attitude has remained good in Dallas despite the fact that he hasn’t found his niche in the offense, and that will help him find future employment.

Next week, the NFP will have an exclusive
on how Marion Barber is likely to be cut.
The world will be aghast.

I don't even think they're necessarily right about this
some depends on how the CBA is structured, but on their two points…
1) Williams contract may make more sense to keep for another year because of the cap hit releasing him now would cause
2) Without Roy, they don’t have much depth at all behind Miles and Dez. Hopefully Harris can step up quickly to fill a slot role, but he’s a small school rookie so not likely to make a big impact his first season. Then we’ve got a bunch of UDFAs and special teamers. Ogletree hasn’t lived up to expectations. Johnson and Holley could play a bigger role but really can we rely on any of them as WR3 material? What happens if Miles or Dez goes down injured?
If I was putting money down, I’d expect Roy back for another year for these reasons.

We'll have the same dilemma next year if we keep him
But I’m still neutral on the keep/cut situation. If we do let him go this season I think Sam Hurd could be a solid 3rd WR if we re-sign him. I would feel a lot better with him filling in for Dez or Miles than the other guys, and of course we’d have a special teams ace still, wich Roy never will be.
Hurd probably wants a more prominent role
which he’s more likely to find elsewhere, but if Roy were gone and they gave him a fair shot to win the WR3 role, maybe he would re-sign and could step up.

I am a HUGE Hurd supporter, whenever he’s thrown to I see good things from him. I would love to get rid of RW and have Hurd step up to the WR3 spot as well as ST where he’s a total beast!
Roger: Hey, with this mortar launcher, we can get back at the kid who went all Tom Sizemore on your eye!
Steve: Oh, I wish I could get back at him. I'm gonna dress up as a girl and get him to have sex with me and then say "Ha! I'm not a girl! You just had sex with a boy that hates you!"
Roger: Yes, let's leave that plan between you, me, and the string of therapists who won't be able to help you.

I might be in the minority here but I say cut Roy and let Hurd go too
We have options available to us. It’s not like we’re suddenly out of options. Dez had 45 catches last year, Miles had 69 catches, Roy had 37 catches. I think just Miles and Dez alone could absorb those 37 catches but throw in a mix of Murray, John Phillips, MartyB, Olgetree, Harris; I don’t think we’ll miss a beat. We are paying number 1 WR money for a guy with number 3 WR stats. Cut him and move on.
Only bring Hurd back if it’s cheap. He’s maxed out his potential
