Now you maybe wondering why I'm writing about something that happened three years ago, well here's why.
I was recently re-watching the Cowboys Hard Knocks marathon the other day on the NFL network and there was one thing that jumped out to me. It was during an offensive meeting, then Offensive Coordinator Garrett was talking and he was talking about his favorite coaches. He said that his favorite coaches were the ones that got on you when you did something wrong, not coddled you if you screwed up.
I believe this is what makes him the right man for the job, and you can see this in the coaches he has hired. Jimmy Robinson is a guy who will be a friend to the players if they want him to be, but if they screw up he will get on their butts. Rob Ryan has benched players like Shaun Rodgers and Michael Huff. With pro athletes, who are extremely talented, the best way to get their attention is to take a way their playing time. I'm not going to predict a Super Bowl run for our beloved Cowboys, but I think win or lose, we will be proud of the team because they will put the effort in, basically if any defensive player pulls a Mike Jenkins, he'll be on the bench, and any offensive player that doesn't give effort for whatever reason will be too. I think we will be a team that teams don't like to play against.
