This quote says a lot
A lot of people here have read the article about Victor Butler talking about our beloved Cowboys defense. I loved reading the article as much as the next fan, but I believe that the quote about Coach Ryan underneath the picture says a lot more: "When you've got a coach that trusts in you, it makes you want to go out there and perform better."
For Rob Ryan to trust these guys after two weeks of training camp is very impressive. Especially after watching the tape from last year's defense. I don't know about you but it takes me more than two weeks before I trust someone. This just shows that Rob Ryan is a leader. He may be brash and speak his mind but he knows exactly what he's doing when he says stuff like the all hype quote. He's doing two things: first he's telling his guys he trusts them and secondly he's building up their confidence.
After last year they need a little boost. For some reason I never got the sense that Wade never trusted our players. We all know that if something went wrong, Wade would be on the sideline with a dumbfounded look on his face. Nobody will know why this was. He could have trusted them and was amazed they made a mistake, hopefully that was the case. On the other hand, he could have been thinking I made that call and they messed it up, but we'll never really know why he often had that look on his face. There will be no more coaches with that dumbfounded looks on their faces this year.
This season, if something goes wrong, Coach Ryan will be in these players' faces, not because he's being a jerk, it's because he wants to hold these players accountable. His history of benching players like Shaun Rogers and Michael Huff, who a lot of people were calling us to sign, shows that he's willing to bench some very talented players if they are not playing to their potential.

He already did
If you watched the preseason game he was on camera cursing people out on the field. This is only preseason right now too lol

Guys hair piece blew in the wind.
I couldn’t get mad at the play call sometimes because this fat cup cake’s hair piece.

I have read this comment a dozen times, and I have no idea what it means. Whose hairpiece are we referring to? Who is the fat cup cake?

Wade Phillips.
Okay, he didn’t have a hair piece. But it looked like one blowing in the wind.

I thought it was Wade, but that hairpiece bit totally threw me off

this year it wont be on the coaches, .....
the challenge will be on the players, no more wade or camp cupcake to use an excuse on .
woman !, dont try to understand em, dont try to make them understand you, for they are a breed apart ! lol
Coach Cupcake was an embarassment
For us fans, the players, and the organization as a whole. If you look up the term “soft” in the dictionary, chances are you would see a picture of Coach Cupcake’s fat a**. His confused looks on the sidelines and “awww shucks” attitude really screwed this team over for the past few years, and gave us Cowboys fans reason to want to vomit. No mental toughness whatsover. Well, I finally feel that’s gonna change BIG TIME with RR and JG running the show. Ryan brings that mental toughness and swagger that has been sorely lacking for years around here – since the days of Jimmah actually.
We're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anybody want to see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired.

I don't think the problem was Wade's lack of trust in the players.
I think he didn’t trust himself all that much, especially at the end. He always came across as a little indecisive. That got worse at the end, and you saw the team giving up on him last year.
I hope this team has some early success, because it will just reinforce the trust.
