When I saw he had a groin injury today I expected the worst and this is pretty bad. He claims he will be back week 1 but groin injuries tend to linger. The last one he had turned out to require addominal surgery.
There is a lot of positive stuff we are hearing about RRs defense, movement, pass rush, etc. but if we cannot cover WRs it won't matter.
This makes the asounghaha(however the hell you spell his name, I don't care to look it up) to the sbirds that much worse.
I understand wanting to give our young guys a shot, don't want progress stoppers, etc. but I really hate the approach we have to building depth. It's like, ok, we have our starters so we need to shoot for the moon with the rest of our backups. I almost think the success of guys like Austin and Ratliff have made Jerry think he can find all-pros anywhere.
Jerry's attitude is "if he can't be a pro-bowler it's not worth our time". I am really tired of that. Go sign a low/mid-level free agent that has proven he can play. Doesn't have to be great, but enough of this "well, teddy williams can run a 3.9 40 so he is more deserving of a roster spot".
Hope you guys are ready to see Josh Thomas and Orlando Scandrick starting at some point this year.
