Draft Countdown is a site I use a lot for draft research purposes. They are one of the better draft sites out there in my opinion. They have us taking Janoris Jenkins and I want to say why I think it makes sense. Just because Jenkins was dismissed from Florida and has had legal trouble doesn't mean he is the wrong kind of guy. Here is the draft profile I wrote about him recently, http://chiacrackscowboysblog.wordpress.com/2011/07/18/janoris-jenkins-cb-north-alabama/ Lets say he works hard this year. When he enters the draft process and displays to teams that he made mistakes, but he learned from them and regretted them, I think the Cowboys may be interested. If he really shows them that he works hard, loves the game and has learned from his mistakes, it would be a value pick. Kind of like the Dez Bryant pick. Super talented player falls to the 20's. Now, I can't say that I know about Jenkins off the field. I don't know if he is a hard worker, I don't know if he loves football and I sure as heck don't know if he has cleaned up his act. If he does, this could be a guy Jerry falls in love with come next April. Jenkins is one of the best players in the country, make no mistake about that. If he had entered the draft last year, which in my opinion he should have, he would have been my 2nd rated CB. When I see Dallas Cowboys and Janoris Jenkins on a mock, it just makes sense. We are in need of a playmaker at cornerback, we simply don't have a guy who causes a lot of interceptions. We need one and if Jenkins sells himself to the front office, maybe we should take a chance on him.
