Cowboys Not Done In Free Agency?
But the Cowboys are not done.
'"No we're not," owner/general manager Jerry Jones said Thursday afternoon on 103.3 FM. "We potentially have some things we want to do." '
Any ideas on who they might go after? Any preferences?

I want Taylor Mays
now I am hearing it would be a conditional pick for a trade
I give it a 1 percent chance we trade for him, but man I would love to get this kid
Bruce Carter+Sean Lee=BRUCE LEE!!!!

It just worries me that San Francisco is giving up on him so quickly.
I mean, I didn’t think he was THAT bad last year, so I think it might be something else that is leading to his exit from San Fran.
"The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth." -Niels Bohr
why?
he was terrible his last year in college
and he wasn’t done anything so far in the NFL.
We just signed two safeties
I don’t get the sudden uproar for going after a guy whose current team is desperately trying to get rid of. I’m going to predict he winds up on the Bengals.
He may play safety
But on special teams you don’t have positions like safety or corner or anything. He would be a GREAT guy to have as a gunner. A monster that runs a 4.3 forty? yes please, for the right price though.

Have we ever drafted or gave away future draft picks for a guy who can play special teams? I mean aside from a returner. This idea seems insane yet there are a ton of people on this blog suggesting it. I’m just blown away. We JUST signed two safeties who are way better than this guy. His team no longer wants him. He was a bust. There is a reason they are giving up on him so quick.
Ummmm, yes
Any player picked pretty much after round 4 is mainly picked to play special teams and is a DEVELOPMENTAL player. Exactly what Taylor Mays is. Sometimes even 4th rounders apply to that.

Every player picked after round 4 is mainly picked to play special teams
I just wanted to see that as a headline so readers would think I had written something this dumb
ProBowlFactory (funny name btw) – your hoping our team will give up draft picks for a player who’s current team only after a year spending a second round draft pick on, is desperately trying to trade. Furthermore, he plays the very position that we just signed two veterans in the last 48 hours. This is such a retarded idea I’m sorry but it’s starting to grind my gears that so many people are having a wet dream over this guy. He’s a bum. Furthermore he doesn’t fill a need. Get rid of this special teams idea. We target a player for special teams only about once every 10 years. And who ever said this guys is some special teams freak?? He isn’t!!!! This is a terrible idea!!
Wow, somebody needs a real attitude check.
For the record, what do you think a 5th round player is drafted for? To start year 1?

Could be that Harbaugh is doing what Garrett is doing
But has a little different spin on why his RKGs are. So maybe dumping weight. Speculation has it the Broncos are considering trading Tebow now instead of Orton too. (What a mistake that would be…)

Why would that be a mistake?
Did you watch Orton last year? He came along very nicely as a passer. I had him on my Fantasy Football team and won a championship with him (well, McDaniels had benched him after his injury by the time the championship rolled around, but that’s another story entirely).
Orton played very well last year and was the least of that team’s concerns. Tebow is certainly the RKG, but that doesn’t get you far if you’re not also a good player. Denver’s new offensive coordinator has gone so far as to say that Tebow is “expendable” and “not a part of Denver’s future plans.” One scout recently came out and said that Tebow had the passing skillset of a seventh-round quarterback, which I agree with 100%
I think Tebow is a great guy, but never have I ever thought he’d make a good NFL quarterback.

Who?
Brian Waters is the only name I can think of.

brian waters is perfect
1 year stopgap for arkin, and also kelvin hayden with tnews injury i think we need to sign a corner
Sounds good to me.
I just worry that Hayden may be asking for more money than he is worth.

Why are people on this site so hot about Waters?
He is two years older than BIGG and has been playing one more year. Granted, he has been durable, but an aged vet for one year? Really?
I smell something... It smells like... hope. And BBQ.

If he can be had cheap I'm fine with that.

Guys I'd love to see added
Brian Waters- I have no faith in Montrae Holland, and Arkin isn’t ready yet.
Kelvin Hayden- With this TNew injury, we need some vet help back there. And he’s the best left IMO, unless Asante gets cut
Steve Smith from NYG or Mark Clayton- we need a vet as the 4th WR

I think they signed MICHAEL Clayton, not Mark

former receiver of the Rams
That is who they signed. Believe it is Mark though…

Asante will not be cut, the Eagles aren't stupid like Jerry.
If anything they’ll trade him.

who did Jerry cut?
am I missing a player he cut that went on to be a star?
They'll go get a CB.
I’d love to see a G added for depth though, and I’d really like to take a flyer on Taylor Mays if he can be had cheap.

Jericho Cotchery might deserve a look
Depends on how our receivers are looking behind Dez and Miles. Bigger question is though, if one of those two went down (this question drives me nuts because you can ask it about every position and not all of them will have adequate “back up plans”) for a period of time, would whoever gets to be #3 be able to step into a role as the #2 guy? Jericho Cotchery would probably be able to handle that and should come fairly cheap. Probalby a 1-year deal at the vet. min.

That's my worry too
It’s cool that Ogletree is showing up as a viable #3 WR in camp, but what happens when Austin or Dez get a high ankle sprain or something?
I’m not too sure I trust him in that #2 WR spot, and even if he flourishes, who’s the #3 WR?
Any injury to our top 2 WRs, basically wipes out the 3 WR section of the playbook.
