Is Martellus Bennett finally ready to break out?

3

A blog post on BSPN. Seems like every year we are asking this question. Obviously its do or die for him this year. I believe he is in his last year. What do you think? Do you think he finally breaks through? Will he be able to playing behind Witten? If he has a productive year, would you want to sign him long term or are you content to just move on from him and count on John Philips? ======== Martellus Bennett making plays in the Alamodome is nothing new. The big tight end was the star of training camp two years ago, seeming to make at least one spectacular catcher per practice. That prompted anticipation that he was on the verge of blossoming into a major weapon for the Cowboys’ passing game. In the two seasons since then, Bennett has scored a grand total of zero touchdowns. Considering that, perhaps we should be careful pumping up too much optimism about Bennett’s potential. However, it’s worth noting that Bennett was one of the first names out of Jason Garrett’s mouth when the head coach/offensive coordinator singled out players for praise due to their camp performance.
