NYT Cowboy Preview
A pretty thorough and sometimes brutal assessment for the state of the Cowboys heading into the season. Surprised to read such a critical evaluation conclude with a 2nd place finish in the NFC East. Don't agree with an overly harsh assessment of Romo's ability to handle complex calls, or in-game situations. Certainly a direct counter to the tone of the Archer article preceding this. If I had heard this from anyone other than Tex, I might give it come credence...

terrible article
he gives no basis of fact for some of his claims. is he siting a source when saying JG hasn’t been able to open the playbook because Romo can’t understand complex schemes???
he says Witten doesn’t create mismatches…but others create them for him? what does that mean?
I think Witten creates plenty of mismatches….just ask the LB’s, Safeties, or CB’s that try to cover him.
I skipped straight to the "bottom line"
It saved me from reading what I imagine was a lot of hot garbage.
Ok, that was stupid enough I couldn't make myself finish reading it.
Think anyone has emailed him yet and told him he got Smith’s age wrong?
I don't actually think it's that unfair to Romo. The writer says he's talented, but
maybe not as astute as the most elite QBs in the league. It’s not that different than what a lot of posters say here. He acknowledges that with the good WRs Romo has and better protection, Romo can win. I think Romo CAN deal with the most complex playbook, but he’s still got to prove it; part of that will depend on the O line, and part of that will depend on Romo and Garrett.
