Ok,Ok,I was going to post a rational, clinical evaluation of the game immediately after it was over.Instead,my wife had to close the door to the bedroom,as much wailing and gnashing of teeth was occurring downstairs on the big screen.I love the Cowboys too much to watch that type of game and be calm, but I'll try to be more coherent this morning.
1.The Cowboys can play with any team in the league when they are focused.Offense looked great early on.
2.Effort and flying around was seen last night, which is a heck of a lot better than what we saw last year under Uncle Fud.If we are going to lose,at least be IN the Game!
3.JG is NOT going to tolerate Romo making those kinds of bonehead plays all season! He is an ex quarterback and current offensive coordinator,as well as HC,and he KNOWS we had that game in the bag and Romo blew it.Intense coaching will be required to get his head back on straight.Otherwise,as they say,he will be stuck with a quarterback like Joe Montana's predecessor, Steve DeBerg, which was "just good enough to get you beat."
4.Our young guys on defense had to be thrown in the fire and I think they did pretty good, all things considered. We did stop the Jets running game cold, which is very encouraging. And look out for Sean Lee!That guy is the real deal at linebacker!
5.NOBODY will look at the Cowboys this year and think we will be an easy out!Tony Dungy is a real nice guy,but he can't predict worth a dang, and I'll bet he won't be saying we are going to lose big any more this year.
On to San Francisco!!!
