The greatest wins come from the place where winning seems unlikely or even impossible. I think most of Cowboy Nation expected us to win today. Maybe we underappreciated the replacement of horrid Coach Singletary with Coach Harbough. This Niner team was often impressive today. And are still my favorite to win the West. But confidence was high going in. Even with the TD to Miles Austin before halftime, the Cowboys looked off. Tony Romo comes walking out just before halftime with that Shane Falco walk. And then we get to see him told not to play and Shane/Tony kicking things and looking mighty angry going back to the locker room. One of the things that make him easy to support, Tony wants to PLAY all the time.
We get some Kitna. Both good and bad. Initially it seemed like a good change of pace. Quick passes. Moving the ball. Followed by a TD and 2 interceptions. Ugh. Give us back Shane. In walks Tony Romo to lead us back. All of the best things that make him our QB. Leading the team all over the field. Talking to Holley on the sideline. Making great throws and bringing us back. PS: Miles Austin you are a BEAST. Enough said. Something no one outside of Cowboy Nation seems to understand how much Shane / Tony is the leader of this team. They trust him and know what he can do. And when we can finally figure out why some of our receivers run the wrong response patterns at the end of routes, the better we will be.
And for Jesse Holley I offer the nickname "The Rooster." Yes, it is partially due to the big hair. The dreads could easily pass for the comb of a rooster. Also. I heard "The Rooster" by Alice in Chains on the way back from a trip after the game today. Anyone who does that needs a nickname. And the song is the bomb. Maybe he will be our Number 3 this year. He looked good. And how you play on the field means more than anything. When he caught that ball I leaped up and almost lost my ... stuff. Reminded of Herschel breaking free and Alvin Harper going field. And from Drummonds's post I was reminded of Ishmael's TD.
Go Cowboys. Go Cowboy's Nation. Go BTB.
Redskin Week. Bwahahahhhahaha. Rex Grossman FTW.
