What a game and what a gutsy performance by the team and most of all Tony Romo. While the injury news is hard to swallow we can only hope for the best.
In a game filled with headlines by players like Romo, Holley and Austin, let's look at the other guys. Here is my Week 2 edition of DON'T FORGET THESE GUYS!
***Jason Hatcher. This was a career day for Hatcher notching 2 sacks and multiple hurries. Since replacing Spears in the starting line up he has rewarded Rob Ryan with stellar play against the run and the pass. If Hatcher keeps up this play he may be another piece that could make a formidable front.
***DeMarcus Ware. How can you forget Ware?!! Ok so we probably don't. 2 sacks are just another day at the office. But we may have forgotten his best sack when he didn't even make the tackle.
On the Niners opening drive in OT Smith drops back and as he was doing all game looks for the short pass which happened to be a check down to Gore. Ware looked as if he was blitzing but at the last minute peeled back and was all over Gore taking away Smith's primary option. Thus giving Rattlif an extra second to get to the QB for the sack. How many 6'4 260+ lb players can take away a dual threat RB in crunch time?
***Dan Bailey & David Buehler. Yes, Bailey missed a chip shot FG and I was ready to throw my TV. Yet he came back and kicked a HIGH PRESSURE FG to send the game into OT. And High Pressure maybe an understatement. He misses that, the Cowboys are 0-2 with no hope at kicker. Buehler gets the nod here for being able to contain Ginn Jr with multiple Touchbacks. Ginn was an X factor that was completely taken out of the game thanks to a big leg.
Any other players you guys think should be included would love to hear. Great game and toughness shown by everyone. Looking forward to week 3.
