Dallas Cowboys News: Injuries, The Redskins Rivalry, And Worries For The Washington O Line

Tony Romo is the one of the main topics in the media, especially this week.

As the two longtime foes prepare for the first of their two annual regular-season encounters on Monday night, their rivalry couldn't be healthier, as it resonates in much the same way it has since the Cowboys were formed in 1960.

While we wait restlessly to get to the Washington Redskins game on Monday night, here is a look at what is being said about the game around the interwebs.

The Mothership reports that Rob Ryan is excited to get Terence Newman back

Also at the Cowboys home site, Tony Romo is still talking like he plans to play after some light practice Saturday.

The Ft. Worth Star-Telegram says that Jason Witten agrees on Tony - although someone might need to talk to Victor Butler.

He looked so good that Romo was apparently able to withstand a shot from linebacker Victor Butler in practice, according to incredulous defensive coordinator Rob Ryan.

"I think that was a mistake," Ryan said. "I hope it was a mistake. I was like, 'Oh my God, probably not what we're looking for'. Great effort, though."

I love how the Big Robowski had to get the praise for his guy in there.

More after the jump.

CBS sums up the players that are likely to play. Dez Bryant and Felix Jones should be playing. Only Miles Austin, Derrick Dockery, and Orlando Scandrick are definitely out. The Redskins injury report is also here.

DMN says that David Buehler is also ready to go

The Washington Examiner has a report on the challenges the Dallas defense presents the Washington O Line. It also talks about the resurgence of the Cowboys/Redskins rivalry.

As the two longtime foes prepare for the first of their two annual regular-season encounters on Monday night, their rivalry couldn't be healthier, as it resonates in much the same way it has since the Cowboys were formed in 1960.

Redskins receiver Santana Moss talks to the Washington version of the Mothership about the Cowboys.

Back at the real Mothership, rookie Dwayne Harris is making an impact with his punt returns.

The Washington Times talks about the need for Redskins OT Trent Williams to handle DeMarcus Ware.

NFL.com has a report on Boomer Esiason's criticism of letting Romo play.

"What the hell are the Cowboys' doctors doing?" the former Bengals, Jets and Cardinals quarterback said in an interview with USA Today." Are you allowed to play with a punctured lung, a collapsed lung, broken ribs? Is that what the NFL is now? Or do we actually care about the players? Or is it all just lip service? I think (Commissioner) Roger Goodell has got to look at that particular situation very seriously."

ESPN looks at critical matchups for the game.
