Personally, CJ is a silent killer. He’s not flashy. He doesn’t talk a lot smack on the field. And he doesn’t thirst for the spotlight. One thing he does do is shut people up with his play on the field. If I were Jerry Jones, I’d have put a gag order on all Cowboys franchise personnel from saying anything about CJ. Absolutely no reason to give him more fuel to feed him. Hell, Cris Carter is doing a good enough job as it is.

but he has the measurables

I’m guessing you’re talking about Miles’ 81 reception, 1300 yard, 12 TD season a few years back. CJ has actually had 2 comparable years:

2008 – 78 receptions, 1330 yards, 12 TD
2010 – 77 receptions, 1100 yards, 12 TD

Of course, neither of those years were winning seasons so from that perspective, you’re right (since Miles and co. went 11-5 that season and both of CJ’s years above were well, they didn’t count for much from a team perspective). But pure statistics, both of those years should measure up to Miles’ best.
