Does anyone have a SOS for draft position this coming draft?
Lot of interesting things happening with 7-8 and 8-7 teams today….
2 part question....
Eli Manning sucks and
go f@#k yourself!
(Tosh.O "crying Giants fan")
well I do know....
that it was good for dallas that Chi, Ten, and Philly won…..all move the Cowboys up in the draft if the Cowboys finish 8-8.
We need to root for Seattle and San Diego to win to move up 2 more spots. There was a fanpost on this about week 17 rooting interest.

Exactly. Why is that even a question??
Of course he wants to win but who wants to say "Yeah, I was part of a winning team. We even won a couple of Superbowls. I was on the sideline while we did it. " He’s got a ring already as a backup. Now it’s time for him to go try to take a team to the big dance on his own. It’s hard to believe that some fans think an NFL football player, who’s probably played and competed at a top level his entire life, who’s been the best player on his team all the way up to the NFL for the most part, would really make a conscious decision to throw all that work away so he could be 2nd best and ride a bench.

so Seattle winning that game helps draft position.
GB winning helps too (hurts Giants + helps us). But I’m not sure if I’d rather play atlanta or Detroit if we do pull out the win. Actually probably detroit, I want a rematch for that friggin loss. Lets go Flynn!

I've been rooting for this, in case we lose tonight:
If Dallas loses (hopefully Santa gives Dallas an extra gift of making the playoffs), the Cowboys will be 8-8. Here is what needs to happen for Dallas to move up to the 13th pick (each occurrence moves Dallas one from its current 18th position):
Philadelphia defeats Washington (@ Philadelphia)
Seattle beats Arizona (@ Arizona)
San Diego vanquishes Oakland (@ Oakland)
Chicago wins one of its last two games (@ Green Bay and @ Minnesota)
Tennessee overcomes Houston (@ Houston)
Santa left Dallas a win-win scenario this morning

need Seattle to win
their two extra games were Minny/Carolina
both have lost.
So as long as Requiem’s stats are right, they have 120 wins set in stone and we cannot get less than that

we need to lose to get to 8-8. Thats two wins right there that are the difference I think (AZ needs to win)

they will pass us

What tiebraker
causes the Chargers to miss the playoffs if they win + Denver loses? It appears to me like they win the division if this happens
why though?
if they win + Denver loses
They all finish 3-3 in the division.
SD is 7-5 in conference. Denver + Oakland are 6-6
if chargers win and Denver loses
Denver wins division.
If raiders win and Denver loses, raiders win division. If both lose, Denver wins. Chargers are out.

needs both Denver + Oakland to win + Cincy to lose. They lost the head to head to Cincy so they can’t win unless a 3rd team gets into the race.
Playoff scenarios always make me laugh. Tennessee cannot make the playoffs unless two teams with similar position in the standings WIN.

Kragthorpe is still one of the best at grooming young QB’s and they just had a commit from the #1 high school prospect in the country who wanted to work with him. hey TB has scored 24 unanswered...LOL
You know if they won this game, then we would be in the playoffs regardless, IF we had given a damn in the Philly game. (Still REALLY pissed about that game).
Why are you assuming the team just tanked the Philly game?
I thought the defense played hard, much better than round 1 although the pass defense was still poor.
Once McGee entered the game, it was over. We didn’t exactly light up the Eagles D with Romo the first game, and McGee can’t throw the ball more than 10 yards downfield apparently.
I saw a flat, lifeless team for much of the first half, after which the defense woke up
regardless of Tony or not. Both of our sets (O and D) of Big Uglies were horrible for much of the game.and who says the team has to give up when the backup QB comes in? I really despised that game.
I saw much tighter coverage and far better run D then the first game, even in the first half
Philly still was very effective, but i thought the D played hard. Honestly, our D is just not that talented.
I thought the Oline looked bad in large part because McGee was making awful decisions as to how he moved in the pocket. Romo makes a lot of those guys miss easily.
comes with experience.....
Garrett really should have gotten McGee more work that week leading up the game….maybe he would have performed better…

Just did some reading because the Seattle/Arizona game is terrible
Sounds like the salary cap carry over rule is a real thing. So the Cowboys can carry over about $18 million of this year’s cap into next year and can get a $1.5 million salary cap exception. So we suffer about $25 million in dead cap but get to add about $20 million in salary cap exceptions.
So at the end of the day we should expect to have about 15-20 million in room to play with.
by Blue Eyed Devil on Jan 1, 2012 6:25 PM CST up reply actions
I talked about this over on Raf's site
It’s over $18 mill I think. So even with the dead money we’ll have plenty to work with but so will other teams. Plus, I think we save like $6 mill if we cut Newman. Certain cuts could save even more for players that might not be back anyway. Also, this is all predicated on the salary cap staying exactly the same as it is this year which I’m not sure of. Here’s a link to a guy who breaks it down:

"Obviously, I felt like if I ran into my lineman there it was going to help the play" ~Tony Romo
Superstion?
You have to play this game like somebody just hit your mother with a two-by-four. Dan Birdwell. Oakland Raiders
How do you want to be rememberd. Go out there and play every play like it is your last play. Be remembered as the person you want to be for the rest of your life. Spike Dykes, Midland Lee and Texas Tech Coach.
As a former player I understand certain superstitions
Through high school and college as a team we hd certain things we did every week. As a player I had one superstition I had. At the start of the season I had my family and friends sign a T-Shirt with thier name and a message. I wore it under my pads and did not wash it all season. Still have all off them framed.

I had this dumb ritual when I played semi-pro football
where before a game, I squatted down with my arms out and sidestepped left to right for a few minutes, I figured it’d help me being a lineman at the time (despite being really undersized for one, I’m sorry but being 245 lbs. ISN’T lineman size) But I was no. 2 on my teams depth chart and only started/played 3 games, the first game was awesome as I lead blocked for 3 touchdowns, but got overpowered on double teams and facemasked repeatedly with no flags on my next game. The 3rd game was average. But my awesome game was the only game my team won, so that makes me some kind of a “hero” i suppose.
I don't agree with Coach Fox
He’s got the ball on a 4th and 9. From around their 30.
Why do you punt?
Just to not look bad?
Best case scenario if you fail to get a first is they kick a FG.
So it’s 10-3.
I hate stupid Coaching.
"I'm your huckleberry."
they had 3rd and 5 at midfield with like 5 minutes left
and ran the ball lol.
He drives me mad...
..and I’m not even a Broncos fan. If I had Tebow I’d never, ever punt on 4th and 1 from midfield, yet he does routinely. Also, I’d throw in a lot of random 2 point conversions just because I can.
and perfectly covered

I rather them be truthful so if it is effecting his play we know why. By lying you now open the door to Romo is a choker instead of a gut it out player that we know him as. Perception is not reality when it comes to him but alas they have their ammo ready

Did anyone else think Cincy should have gone for it on 4th & goal from the 4?
I thought so at the time, because I thought they’d have time to get a FG but not a TD later. I was right — though I’ll admit they probably should have gotten a pass interference penalty on the 2nd to last play.
idk I didnt watch any games today

They were down 11 with 4th and 4 and about 3 minutes on the clock.
They kicked the FG, then gave up I think 1 first down before they stopped Baltimore, then drove to around the 30. The last 2 plays were passes to the end zone that failed.
I guess you kick the field goal

I know its tough guys. We’ve all been let down so much this season. I know Tony’s hand looks like the marshmellow puff mans hand but we have to believe gosh darn it.
If you stop believing then you are no better than any player on the team that has given up. As fans, we can’t control anything about the game. But we can control our faith in the team. They are in a hostile place and they need all the support and faith that we can muster up, even if we aren’t there.
All we need is a little William Wallace Brave Heart belief.

Everything broke our way in today’s games. We moved up 4 spots in the draft to #14 if we lose.
If we lose this game all is not lost, we have great draft position and ~20 million in salary cap next year.
Everything is going to be okay.
and if we win we get a home playoff game
We’re in a fortunate position. Just enjoy tonight.
